    Joe Calzaghe was far better.

Unlike Ward, he never needed to use illegal tactics and dodgy referees and judges to win.

    Ward should have losses:

Kessler (loss by DQ for deliberate head butts)
    Kovalev I (decision loss)
Kovalev II (loss by DQ for low blows)

Calzaghe never had to cheat to win.

Calzaghe. Even in his mid thirties he did a number on on the likes of Kessler and Bika without having to cheat ... Ward on numerous occasions head-butted and elbowed both of them in Clinch fests. Both of those fights are just comedy Gold it's like watching Billy Goats rutting

Ward busts him up, he’s just a better fighter, period.

It has to be Calzaghe. Ward's resume has not aged well at all.

    LOL

Calslappy fans are p4p the most delusional goofs to have ever posted on ESB.

Yeah, Usyk probably watches highlights of Joe to get himself motivated before a big fight. Usyk, the ultimate road warrior who takes on all challenges, the legitimate p4p #1, the olympic gold medal winner, undisputed cruiserweight, unified heavyweight, is REALLY just a "bigger, less athletic Joe Calzaghe"

    Wow

Yes. Clearly. 8-4. Reid had success in the middle rounds but that's about it. Joe outboxed him, wasn't a SD type performance.. this fight is overplayed by the haters who probably haven't even watched it.. Joe got caught with a few hard single shots, that's about it ... Reid also head butted a lot & hit on the break. Plus he was probably pissing hotter than Canelo Alvarez ... Reid was good on his day anyway he was just inconsistent and mismanaged and undisciplined, this Reid would have given Froch a much more torrid time..

Ward’s questionable win over Kovalev is the best “win” between the two. Calzaghe’s best wins are easy to look down on in hindsight - but hindsight is 20/20 and you can never tell how a loss impacted a fighter from that point on. (Ie. While Lacy likely wasn’t going to be an ATG, its pretty clear the Calzaghe loss had a huge impact on him.)

Eye-test, skill-set, legacy is on a pretty even keel to people who know boxing.

Both of them probably share the same best-asset too which is adaptability within a fight - which is rare even among the greats….
