Who do you rank higher: Andre Ward or Joe Calzaghe

Was Hopkins washed up when Joe c beat him? I see posters constantly referring to an 'aging' Hopkins, yet he did go on to win a world title after wards, with respectable wins as well.

so did bika boy, but noone calls him a best win. well maybe joe cal has him as one of his best wins. probably wards worst smw title win.

 

Not washed up, but old enough that he couldn't overcome certain styles. Quick rangy volume/outside fighters with pace troubled him. That's why Taylor and Dawson were able to do it too. A quality win, but not a historically great one.

 

IMO, age is not something to make a big deal out so long as they operate at the top level, which Hops seems to have done for ages.

Was he past his prime? Sure. But not close to shot or even journeyman status. I do agree with what you are saying for the most part.

 

Too bad Bika isn't Hopkins in this case...

You are silly kid. Carl fought him, period. He's on the resume. Bhop and Jones BOTH called out Joe. It's hard for anything to makes sense to you when it's common sense for the rest of the world. You have a very interesting thought process
