Who do you rank higher as an ATG: Azumah Nelson or Floyd Mayweather Jr?

    Victor Ortiz is ****.

Floyd could win by first round K.O (and should, Ortiz is so open to the right hand) and it would do nothing to enhance his legacy IMO.

well imo vic is clearly the 2nd best WW today and is still young so I expect him to go onto achieve very good things. I see it as being a win thast improves with time.

He's flawed, but the fact that he's younger and bigger than Floyd, and hard-punching southpaw makes this a pretty decent scalp for Floyd to take.

He's only beaten Berto (also ****) and could not be more stylistically favourable for Floyd to look good.

    -Converted southpaw, doesn't use advantages
-No defence/particularly open to the right hand
    -Decent but not crushing power
    -Mentally weak
    -Little variety

He has no form at the weight, other than an over-hyped Berto who is also very, very badly flawed.

Who is the no.1 147lber then? Surely you do't have Ortiz>>Pac mate?

Which Pep or Armstrong win is that great? I don't see it. Neither's longevity is that great

    pac
    ortiz

    everyone else (floyd inactive remember)

the fact that ortiz is number 2 speaks volumes about how **** the divison is right now. However that is nothing anyone can control and if things move as I expect them to (khan, bradley, alexander, maidana, guerrero all moving up) the division can heat up with floyd nicely positioned for some legacy defining fights (it's sad a man of his talent still has to define his legacy at age 35 :-()

Guerrero, Alexander, Maidana, Khan and Bradley are all no-hopers at 147 IMO, especially the first 3, and Khan will get sparked again before long IMO. I suppose between them, Floyd and Pac can better the most lucrative guys from that mix before they retire without actually fighting each other ;-)

The division is **** :good

well at welter cotto fought: margarito, clottey, pac, mosley (2007) and quintana (yes, the one that beat williams)

at welter floyd fought: not margario, not clottey, DEFINITELY not pac and mosley (2010).

    cool....

Lufcrazy asked me to back up my claim about him not being top 50 just as I had to log off, so I quickly cut and pasted an old list from elsewhere, but did also clearly say:

And for your point over Hagler/Jones/Hopkins, this list isn't my p4p list or a list that's in order, it's just a group of fighters.

Now that I have a little time to look into this a bit more, here are the guys from that list that I definitely do rank higher than Floyd Mayweather (again, NOT in a definite order though):

That's 70 right there, and I'm sure there will be a fair amount of guys that should be there that I have forgotten. You could probably argue most of the last 8-10 either way with Floyd, but that still leaves him comfortably outside the top 50, which was my point.

Armstrong-Ross and Pep-Saddler are two of the greatest wins in the history of boxing. You're a bad joke.
