When has GGG ever beaten a fighter of note? RJJ at that point was arguably the biggest phenom in boxing. Everyone knew he was special and yes that RJJ wouldn't have lost a round to any version of GGG. I already answered your post saying that Hopkins was locked up and had to learn on the fly. PBF was in his 5th weight class and faded and the smaller man so that more than evens it out. Not only that GGG was expected to knock out Canelo so come again?

LMFAO after Ward move up to 175 of course he wasn't going to come back down. FFS he was struggling to make 168. While Ward was at 168 GGG hid in the bathroom until Ward moved to 175.

 

GGG was a nobody back then. PBF had bigger fish to fry than a guy whose best win was Martin Murray. A guy who never even won a world title, stop it.

 

I thought it was on record and admitted by HBO that both camps had agreed in principle to a fight but Ward wanted a fight prior to it only to blow out his knee or shoulder and was therefore shelved and team GGG did not wait around.

The whole GGG/Ward thing is not simply black and white.

JMM called PBF out after a layoff out and JMM was already a HOF back then. He was light years more well known and accomplished than GGG to boot. What's laughable is that GGG was willing to fight Chavez Jr and Froch at 168 but when Ward came knocking GGG said 164 and hid under the bed.
