No I am not. And our opinion is irrelevant anyway the fight in the record book is draw that's why they're having a rematch.

I could go with that, on paper it was a better win as far as accomplishment at middleweight.
Canelo hasnt done anything at 160. But a version that GGG faced in my eyes is a better fighter than that version on Pavlik in 2010.

FFS, it's obvious the all but the most die hard and professional Canelo fans that Golovkin won the fight.
Like Byrd was even watching that fight.
On the other hand if we consider the fact that Canelo actually came down from SMW it removes away the argument you lot try to make about "dragging little guys up"
Did you even see the SIZE of Canelo? He was huge!

Shows what a healthy dose of cow can do for you.
Undermining Golovkin's opponents has become a cottage industry around here lately. Its almost like some guys are Xenophobic about them, like they were a separate population group. SMH ...

Yes you are, you know that minority of people that scored Floyd-Canelo a draw?
You're in that group. As long as you're content with it.

Pavlik looked excellent blowing away Rubio before the drubbing to Martinez. Rubio didn't win a round against a sharp Pavlik.
Rubio would beat David Lemiux two years from that defeat so Pavlik wasn't a washed up drunk from the alley like some people are making out. That was an excellent win for Martinez and is clearly a way better win than Jacobs.

Even after the Martinez loss he looked good against Jaco. The opponent was a bum , but Pavlik still looked impressive laying him TFO.

The difference is the judge scored PBF-Canelo a draw no one here did, it wasn't a close fight. People here did score GGG-Canelo a draw it was a close fight and the judges did to.

Floyd-Canelo was practically a shutout dumbass. Canelo-GGG a close, competitive fight.

LAST WORD on this particular tangent:

on the IB scorecard, Mayweather vs. Canelo not only wasn't a draw, it was a shutout. I had GGG beating Canelo as well but it was a MUCH closer fight, with several rounds you could argue for Canelo (enough for a draw? Ehh, that's stretching it. But a few, unlike versus Mayweather)

lol@ Jeff Powell there at the top with his 118-111 scorecard for GGG.. That guy wrote in the Mail that Canelo forced GGG to stay inactive for a year.

Its pretty bad when you have to cite fake news outlets to support your argument.

Canelo may not have won , but GGG did nothing to prove he was the better man. In fact it was Canelo who produced all the best moments and landed all the best punches throughout the fight.
He just didn't do enough to secure the win.

Most were expecting Golovkin to do to Canelo what Martinez did to Pavlik.

Rubio was KO'd by Jantuah in 30 seconds. You are touting Pavlik going rounds with Rubio as a positive thing? Rubio beating the overhyped Lemieux means what exactly? Tune up fights post Hopkins didnt mean Pavlik was back. Going rounds with Rubio actually exposed Pavlik's state at the time.

We agree to disagree regarding Jacobs, and a post Hopkins Pavlik.

Golovkin's zero losses (with only two being close/controversial) evens it out, but Sergio fought and beat the better fighters. Sergio's wins over Pavlik and Williams possibly eclipse the totality of Golovkins' victories.

    That isn't true.

They were expecting Golovkin to do to Canelo what Sergio did to Williams in the second bout.

Yes, but... it should be noted, Canelo fought Floyd's fight, and that style is similar to the styles of two other guy's that arguably should have taken Canelo's 0, Floyd preyed on a young unpolished fighter that he realized was ripe for the picking, since styles make fights, and Floyd knew his was a nightmare for Canelo. No one has ever gone into Canelo's wheelhouse and beat him at his own game, GGG did though.:deal: GGG should get a little extra credit for that IMHO.:D Hell, had Floyd guns blazing, a la his McGregor beatdown, gone to war with Manny and beat him decisively, maybe even stopped him, Floyd would have even gotten a little extra credit from the boxing world, maybe even from the Pac fanboys (who am I kidding on that one?).
