Who Do you Rank Higher - Patterson, Norton or Schmeling?

Quick question, and not meant to be aggressive, derail the thread or start an argument.

Would you rank all lineal HW champions above non champs? So would you rank Leon Spinks over Ken Norton, or Marvin Hart over Chris Byrd? That sort of thing.

 

Not a chance. A guy like Byrd would, imho, beat both Hart and Spinks.

 

I completely agree, he has both of them on résumé as well, but I was just asking Houdini coz he wrote it like that was why

 

The idea is level of accomplishments needs to be considered among everything else. You have three hwts and only two were worlds hwt champion. If everything else is “similar” those that achieved the title should have president.

Certainly did. If you are trying to rank comparatively fighters not only to include skill level but also accomplishments a true worlds championship would provide an advantage when everything else is similar.
