As far as I know Benitez wasn't a drugs cheat so that gives him an advantage right there.

Really tough choice both achieved a lot and both could have achieved more had they had the discipline and the right mindset, both multiple weight champions, both very skilled fighters with great defenses, resume is close too, Toney gets the edge on longevity but then gets some points deducted for being a steroids cheater, its a tough choice and with all the things being close i go with the fighter i enjoy the most i go with Lights Out just barely.

Close, but Toney is better all around. Their defense is on par with each other, but Toney was more durable. Also like RJJ, Toney is an extremely gifted athlete. I'll give them the benefit of doubt when it comes to testing positive for roids. Just my opinion.

Toney, the youngest lineal MW champ in history I believe. Better wins overall in McCallum, Nunn, Holyfield, Reggie Johnson, Jirov, Barkley, Prince Charles Williams plus he really beat Ruiz and Peter and made Rahman quit

Yes he was a drugs cheat at HW but in reality most HWs these days are drugs cheats

Benitez easily. In his prime he won the 140 147 and 154 pound titles fighting Leonard,Hearns,Duran and Cervantes. Toney was very good but he does not have the ultimate fights of Benitez. Benitez beating Duran easily proves a lot about him and his skills.

    Benitez for me.

Toney has some embarrassing losses around his pirime to subpar fighters and got flushed by Jones in a one-sided way.

Benitez was more or less in every fight he ever fought until he was past his prime.

As others have said, some of Toney's work at heavyweight was steroid-fuelled, so that takes away some of the longevity and resume argument for me.
