If Vitali's losses were wins he'd have the higher ranking, but they're not so he doesn't. Even with Wlad's losses being worse than Vitali's by far, his aggregate wins put him ahead.
Wladimir Klitschko. Stonger list of opponents beat, longer reign as a beltholder, has unified belts, is the recognized heavyweight champion right now (which Vitali has never been), has more power and better technique. His chin is weaker, but compared to Vitali, that's no great crime. Easily Wladimir.
Wlad. I don't even think he's the better total package, but he's just accomplished more. More wins, more champs on his record, a unification, a gold medal (I count outstanding amateur achievements, so **** off about it) etc. H2H I prefer Vitali actually, though.
If you're going by Ring? Then Vitali has been the recognized champion also. Neither have been linear in the sense of beating the last man, but both have now been considered the top dog. Vitali was right after beating Sanders, who beat Wladimir while Lennox was in the early stage of retirement. He was thought by a majority I think to be the top HW just then. But hell, some even haven't accepted calling Wlad as the lineal champ still.
Yeah, the Hayden thing can't be overlooked. I'm sure she demands elite athleticism as well, so we can deduce a few things.
Wlad has a better resume but, if they fought even today Vitali would knock Dr. Steel Hammer to the canvas within 5 rounds. :deal
Yeah, it wasn't much. He shocked me a bit. His body seemed like it had really hit the end of the road there when the injury-prone spell forced him into retirement...and yet here he is, like nothing was ever wrong.
Wlad. I rate achievements/resume more than mythical H2H matchups. If I was so great at picking H2H fights, I'd be a rich gambler. That's simply hypothetical, and there's nothing hypothetical about Wladimir beating numerous contenders/beltholders of the time. Vitali making a successful comeback after numerous injuries is impressive. You know what's more impressive to me in terms of legacy? Not having injuries in the first place (part of being a successful athlete is being healthy) and getting lots of work done. Peter, Byrd, Brock, Ibragimov, Thompson, and Chagaev were all rated contenders when Wlad beat them. In the case of Ibragimov and Chagaev, undefeated beltholders.
vit never got knocked out like his younger brother wlad and never lost only by injury's. Even wlad ranks vitali higher then him
