Tyson was the best H2H, in his prime, IMO.

Lewis did the best work as a heavyweight.

Holyfield would rank highest including his cruiserweight run.

A bit harsh on Holyfield, no? Then again, i take it there's not much "amount of greatness" between the #8 and the #13 as the spaces between them suggest? I my list there is not that much between them after #4 anyway....

On the topic, i'd have it:

    1. Lewis
    2. Holyfield/Tyson (tie)

I don't see a lot of seperation between 3 and 9 or between 9 and 14. I guess you could argue Holyfield higher, but who of those I have rated above him would you say he should definitively be behind?

Brutal avatar. But I miss Gary.

Lewis has the best resume. Tyson was the most dominant when he was young. Holyfield was the most skilled and best at Cruiserweight. Answer: Lennox Lewis.

:think How do you come to the conclusion that Lewis was the best, if Tyson was more dominant, and Holyfield more skilled?

It depends on your criteria of course. Personally i'm not sure if i'd have Johnson as high as #6 considering his weak opposition, though his historic achievements are tremendous. I also think Holyfield definitely belongs higher than Jeffries, and perhaps Foreman (by a shade or more).

As for Tyson/Holyfield, it's tough because Tyson was extremely dominant, but suffers in longetivity and Holyfield beat him in convincing fashion when they were at a similar stage of their career, twice.

Thanks. Every now and then i get a sudden, deep interest in a particular subject, right now it's battleships. Reading about the Bismarck is great.

If 'fighting everyone' is the criteria for all-time-greatness, then De La Hoya is the greatest of all time :good
