No, i'm pretty happy with his slot just now. Whilst what you say is true, he also has Sharkey. As far as his physcial attributes go, he seems to be right up there in terms of strength, durability, punch resistance. And his contempories and those who came immediatly after him seemed to really, really rate the guy.

Regardless of the limitations of some of his opponents, there's little criticism possible of his fight-record given that his only loss came way past prime against one of the best.

I know what your saying. Although I think you're doing Lewis a big disservice by suggesting that he was only good because he was big and had a good right hand. It's overly simplistic to suggest that. Lewis was actually a highly skilled boxer with an awsome jab.

Y'know, considering I watched through the whole heavyweight scene of the 90s, it's amazing how Lewis's reputation amongst American fans & media in particular has turned around.
I read a complementary piece about him from Ron Borges a few months back. Ron f'n Borges.
No word from Wally Matthews as of yet.

I think the problem is, and certainly Holyfield and Lewis suffered from this, is that through your career you'll have a lot people wanting you to be one thing or another. Both were under the shadow of Tyson, and ironically so was Tyson eventually as his abilities waned.

It's often not until it's all over and done with that you can look back on it and say that THIS was how you did it, your own path, not what others wanted.

I've chose Holyfield because of his achievements at CW plus the fact that he did so well at HW, one other thing that swung it was the fact that IMO Tyson would have wiped the floor with Lewis in his prime.
Holyfield - Superb at both CW and HW
Lewis - Longevity places him above Tyson
Tyson - Could have been higher but never reiged long enough and sometimes wilted when his opponents stood up to him

This is more or less how I see it, and I agree with everything you wrote. I voted Holyfield. Although I disagree that "Tyson would have wiped the floor with Lewis".
