    BERNARD HOPKINS

Wins: Felix Trinidad, Oscar De La Hoya, Glen Johnson, William Joppy, Howard Eastman, John David Jackson, Robert Allen x 2, Keith Holmes, Antwun, Echols x 2, Syd Vanderpool, Joe Lipsey

Losses: Roy Jones Jr (decisive loss), Jermain Taylor x 2 (arguably two wins)

    SUMBU KALAMBAY

Wins: Mike McCallum, Herol Graham x 2, Iran Barkley, Steve Collins, Robbie Sims, Doug DeWitt, Francesco Dell'Aquila

Losses: Michael Nunn (knockout loss), Ayub Kaule (arguably a win), Mike McCallum (arguably a win), Duane Thomas

For me, this is a case of Hopkins' great dominance and displaying of a wonderful skill-set over a weaker middleweight era vs. Kalambay having the best single win, the better top wins, but lack of depth and longevity as compared to Bernard. Both were special fighters in my opinion.

    What do you guys say?

Kalambay has the better resume and it isn't that close, he has the embarrassing Nunn loss though.

Kalambay would beat Hopkins too for my money, all wrong for 'Nard but it would be closish

In before Hopkins nutthuggers swarm, they won't know anything about Kalambay no doubt

...I saw the title of this thread and thought to myself, "this is an interesting topic." Then I saw my username under the title and remembered when I made this a while back. Surprised somebody came across this

I should also add that after wondering who that "somebody" was, I scrolled down on my browser and saw a one Boxed Ears had bumped my thread. Needless to say, I was ecstatic...and deeply honored.

...and as far as the last sentence, how do I get that "Message is Moderated" thing to go? I'm not sure why that's even there in the first place for every single one of my damn visitor messages :huh

I don't recall making any Klitschko threads the other week. I'll try to think of some good material to use after Wlad fights Thompson.

No problem with people saying Kalamby could beat Hopkins, he was an amazing fighter whose stock is denegrated by the masses because of a very odd and rare KO.

However, I can't see any argument for rating him above Hopkins in a list of middleweight greats, not given the reign of dominance Hopkins had (albeit in a weaker era).

I rate Kalambay highly but just want to correct one thing. The Kalaule fight was nowhere a win.

Kalule in fact is probably one of the most underrated fighters ever. If he was american he would have been viewed as a top top ATG.. also because he might not have lost to SRL. The SRL fight was deadeven when suddenly Leonard wins on a BS early stoppage.

I'm a big fan of Kalamabay but I thought he was lucky against Herol Graham in the rematch. I've never seen their first fight but I think I heard that was close to.
