C'mon bruh, any fan who's watched that JOHN fight knows that marquez won clearly. Not on paper, but it was unanimous..

And u already agreed with me that Marquez didnt lose to Norwood.

 

Morales cleary beat Pacquiao in the first fight even when he was in decline.

 

Asero, mark my words. The day will come when Pacquiao is beaten, it might just happen this Saturday, and then you will realise that even great fighters experience defeats. It is how they rebound from those defeats.

I think the general consensus is that Roberto Duran is a far far superior fighter to Manny, but he was obliterated by Thomas Hearns.

Address that for me.

I am a huge fan of Juan Manuel Marquez. He is beautiful to watch. I felt so angry when the judges snatched away his defeat in the second Pacquiao fight, because he had demonstrated so much ability and determination that night.

However, what else am I supposed to say when you keep bringing up Marco's losses as if that devalues his entire legacy. You should know, as a Marquez fan, fighters take their losses, but it is how they rebound from them that actually matters.

Marco Antonio Barrera started out as a Super Flyweight, and he was a 122lb for the majority of his early career.

The Manny fight took place at 126lb.

 

.. not to take anything away from Pac cause he put on one hell of a performance against MAB and has proven himself to be a great fighter but in all fairness, MAB was totally focused on the Morales trilogy while Pac was flying under the radar when he totally blindsided MAB.

Not saying MAB would have won but things might have been different had MAB prepared for Pac like he did for Hamed and Morales!

Barrera.

I had their series 2-1 in his favor, the official loser winning the first two fights and Barrera clearly taking the 3rd, can't see an argument for Erik in that one.

My scores for the first two fights rarely change. Usually 7-5 in the 1st fight for MAB, although I've had it 8-4 on occassion. Always been 8-4 for Morales in the 2nd.

I think MAB's win over Morales in the 3rd fight is as good as Morales' win over Pacquiao, his very next fight after losing to Barrera.

And outside of that, MAB's win over Hamed easily tops anything Morales has. Resumes are close, but slight edge to MAB there.

H2H is tough, as Barrera looks like the better fighter to me in their trilogy but Morales did far better against similar opponents. Barrera just shades Morales in all-around ability/skill for me.

And with fighters who are this close to each other in terms of greatness, Barrera's superior longevity helps him.

Both great fighters.

 

Agree with most of that.

IMO what tips the scale in Morales's favor for a lot of people is the fact that he had a balls-to-the-wall type of style throughout his whole life whereas MAB(although just as exciting prior to his loss to Jr. Jones) became more of a thinking fighter later in his career!
