Who do you rate higher: De La Hoya, Mosley or Trinidad?

If you read all my posts in this thread, you will see that I'm a fan of Oscar and believe (to the consternation of Napoleon) that Oscar prevailed in his series with Shane.

As I said, five months ago, the answer was clear

But given that Shane's career is still a work in progress, I'll reserve judgment till all three are through.

 

Trinidad was less skilled than the other two, but had the best career. Great power, pressure, and crowd pleasing.

 

Trinidad/Mosley would hav been great @ 147. Tito unlike Margo does have boxing skills. @ 154 and above Tito would beat either of them. My overall ranking from 147 to 160 is Tito, Mosley then Oscar. At 147- I think Mosley would find a way to outlast Tito, but if Tito caught him!

 

DLH > Tito > Shane

That's my story and I'm sticking to it..

DLH lost Tito. He did because he gave away the last three rounds, but that was his decision. He has to live with that. I had him ahead before the last three round. But I saw him lose by one point. Also how many boxer Oscar fought after Tito knock them out??? He made a career fighting Tito's left overs.

Its fascinating to see how short memories of guys here are. Shane was a better fighter than DLH. So was Tito. But because DLH just retired all these parrots are repeating DLH. Facts remain the only one that was consistent and had longevity was Shane. And theres is absolutely nothing overrated about his victory over Margarito. Anyone who says that is an idiot that knows **** all about boxing.

 

This lets me further know you know NOTHING about Shane. The only person that has come close to KO'ing Shane was Vernon Forrest in there first bout. That was after Shane was the worse off after an accidental clash of heads that left him with severe concussion. Despite the concussion Shane still finished the bout. Tito was easy to hit. Shanes offence when he first came to 47 was his defense and i assure you Shane would have got off 5 punches first before Tito could even throw one of his patented left hooks with his illegal hand wraps. Shane can box thats real. Tito was a simple slugger with horrid footwork and jelly legs.

 

I have Oscar and Shane REAL close to eachother (too close to call indeed). However Trinidad is clearly a notch lower then both of them imo.

Mosley is higher than De La Hoya because he beat him twice and fought all comers, Vernon and Winky, which Oscar never had the guts to do. I would rank Tito second because he was a beast until the Oscar fight, after that he became a part time boxer. I rank Oscar 3rd, because he had a lot of gift wins and wins over big but faded names. He also lost legitimately when he stepped up his competition.

 

I like DLH and he was great for the sport but guys here either dont remember his career or are too busy surfing boxrec looking for clues. When it mattered most DLH couldnt best Hopkins Shane or Tito. The only name he beat that was worth there salt was David Reid.. ahem i mean Vargas... And Vargas gave Oscar hell until the later rounds when he wilted. Oscar had more new trainers than fights. He brought in Mayweather and started doing some BS shoulder roll in the cup with Vargas!!! atsch Oscar should have always stuck to what he did best. Box and punch.
