Honestly Holmes fought and dominated a heavyweight division as weak if not weaker than todays.

I got Holmes because the HW title was still the pinnacle of non-team sporting achievement when he was in a league of his own.I have no hate whatsoever for the brothers but it's their misfortune to be champions when the title means **** all anymore.

This was not case, the crowds were focused on the four kings and not Holmes. The HW scene was overshadowed.

    Klitschkos are two different fighters.

I think you'll find it was.It only lost it's allure in the 90's after the demise of Tyson. And it was only Leonard who made the smaller weights such big earners.I never said Holmes' era was great but it was still a cherished and much vaunted position and the biggest money division outside the divisions where Ray fought.By far.

The heavy weights today is similar in that aspect also as it still is the biggest money division outside may & pac.

But you're claiming the HW title was not held in much esteem in the 80's.I can assure you that regardless of the quality of fighters around pre-Tyson,it was still regarded as the pinnacle of sporting achievement.I was there,I haven't forgotten, and if you were, and living in Western culture, you'll acknowledge that I'm right.
This isn't an anti-Klitschko point I'm making, just a personal view of why I rate Holmes higher.Only an opinion, but my point about the position of HW champ is beyond reproach.I saw and heard it with my own eyes and ears.

Not quite the poll results you were hoping for so far, eh you racist *******? Btw, Which Klitschko are you referring to? Wlad is FAR superior to Holmes, Vitali only somewhat, but both should and in time, will be rated higher than Larry Holmes.

I know you are not anti klitschko but I feel the opposite as the title may have been pinnacle of sporting achievement in the US but not the world as there was as concentration good heavies in mostly US with a few elsewhere like GB/Canada etc.

Plus I was comparing the Klitschkos as a group.
Individually Vitali cannot exceed Holmes in greatness (note: not H2H as I believe the bros are better) unless if he if does not retire and fights till at least ~ 2014.
Individually Wladmir cannot exceed Holmes in greatness (note: not H2H as I believe the bros are better) till he makes 5 mores defenses of his title
