What I was wondering. I actually think Holyfield might rank higher H2H because of what he brings to the table. Whereas Pacquiao, I mean it's like two different fighters. 130 and below, he was defensively open and left-hand happy and perhaps too aggressive for his own good at times.

135+, he's improved but I still think he's got flaws. Plus, I don't think he's as natural at the weight as he should be. I mean I think he can take the punches - for whatever reason - but is he as strong at 140-147 as other's?

Holyfield I've often under-rated from a H2H sense but I've finally seen the light. Durability, good boxing skills at HW, good speed at HW, plenty of heart, strength, adaptability, and an ability to frustrate an opponent and take them out of their element. That's going to be a tough night for a lot of HW's. I think he always had the beating of Tyson for starters.

I think Holyfield almost breaks top30. But he is not above Chavez, RJJ, Arguello, etc while Pacquiao is.

I think that's a reasonable ranking for Holyfield. I also agree he's behind all of those. I'm not sure where I rank Pacquiao, I think I'll wait till he retires before giving him a clear ranking. I wouln't say he's 'miles' above Holyfield though, as somebody else said - if at all. Like I said, I don't know.

The man got his ears bitten off and still fought on, that goes a long way in my book.

Holyfield was a former Light-Heavyweight, who became the Undisputed Cruiserweight and Heavyweight Champion of the World. Ring Magazine 'Fighter of the Year' on two occasions. Beat Dwight Muhammad Qawi, Carlos De Leon, Hasim Rahman, John Ruiz, George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Riddick Bowe, Ray Mercer and Iron Mike Tyson, amongst others.

The guy was a 10x World Champion - you're telling me that Pacquaio is so much better than the Real Deal - that no comparison should be made?

    Get out of here!

In may humble opinion, Cruiserweight Holyfield was probably as close to perfect as a fighter can be.

At least you started off that statement appropriately.:good

I would whole-heartedly disagree with it, but he was definitely a great fighter. As to the thread question, I'd go with Holyfield because he never ducked anyone, even if both were roid munchers.

Pac never had to fight Tyson, or Bowe. That is easy.

Holyfield was at his best as a Cruiserweight and in that division he dominates everyone more than Pac has, in his respective divisions.

And just think in all the years that have passed, even with the Cruiserweight division's increase in weight, there hasn't been anyone who would be able to give a prime Holyfield a contest in my view.
