RJJ of course... Far more entertaining, dominating, and he didn't took "breaks" when there were dangerous opponents around.
where corrales and castillo twice nobodys or past prime when he beat them? What about hatton? And dominated mosley which alot agree as past prime as he is he still whoops some of the youngsters in welter division, I'm just saying......... Think a bit before you say hes beat no one
Completely agree with this. Mayweather already has a disputed win on his record from when he was allegedly in his prime. He has been retired or semi-retired for much of his career, and has largely fought safe opponents even when active. You cannot rate someone too highly based on unfulfilled potential, talent unproven. Might as well run a poll on who is the greater fighter, RJJ or Kirkland Laing!
I actually like the comp Mayweather has beaten better than Roys. Hopkins hadnt reached his peak and Toney was weight drained so i dont rate those victories as high as others.... But talent and HTH wise Jones was unbeateable at MW and SM... But Mayweather is technichally the better fighter and i believe that unlike Roy once his speed fades he will still be an excellent fighter, just think his defense and his skills are so top notch that he will still be very hard to outbox...... Roy was more exciting though and for most of his career was the much better puncher.... . Ill go with Mayweather although its close.
roy jones jr. i wish i could pick floyd cause i love his style, but he hasn't faught all commers like roy. if only he faught everybody at first hand- like margarito, mosley, cotto, berto, maybe martinez or andre ward.. just take over the weight he is in
thats why he got knocked out.. man just wants to fight.. i like that crazy mentality. on the flipside, i dont think i've ever seen floyd with a bruise or cut.. so im looking forward to harder challenges.. watch him beat everybody cause i believe he has the talent to do so.. i hope he fights soon cause theres so much challenges for him right now
Let Hagler move up 2 - 3 weightclasses and he will look very human at some point. If Roy had stayed at 168, he could have compiled a 50:0 record and retire. Hagler was physically superior to every MW he faced, but against 6'2 LHW's who walk around at 200 pounds, he would have met his match in toughness/strength. RJJ could beat skilled LHW's and a natural HW, even though his natural best weight was 168. Do you really think Hill, Hall, Ruiz were physically inferior to RJJ?
thank god we can always count on ****rag ******s like you to keep the intellectual bell curve around here alive! :good
If you lived in defense all your career does not mean you had an extra ordinary chin. One thing I had Jones far edge from Floyd is that Roy had never been too cautious in facing challenge on opponents.
