I agree with majority of your post and Roy is my dude, but I still think this comparison is waaay closer than this poll is indicating. People are giving Jones points for the way in which he won fights... Knockouts will usually make a guy look more dominant. But besides Toney and Hopkins, who are the significant wins on Roy Jones' resume? Its true that he didn't have the same options Floyd had but even still, his underwhelming resume can't be overlooked.

Also, Roy Jones entire career till this point has to be taken into account. With that considered, I have to give the edge to Mayweather.

I don't see how people can think Jones could be so scared to fight Euros in his prime, and yet now takes potentially fatal fights way past his best.

I don't get why other people say if mayweather beats pac he ranks higher then pac. Is it because if mayweather beats pac, he takes all of pac's wins since he beat Pac? ***** logic of: he beat the man that beat the man? If thats the case Pac beat Martinez without fighting him, since he beat the man that beat the man.

Mayweather. Hasn't been knocked out, fought good opposition at every level, and he's undefeated, (despite actually taking risks).

RJJ beats the living **** out of Michalczewski. Dariusz stands no chance in ****in hell, that's why he didn't come to America to fight Jones cuz he knew he'd get his ass starched.

Roy on accomplishments probably, but I think Mayweather is the better fighter all around, the complete package. He still has a chance to surpass roy jones.

Now, probably Jones. But Mayweather still has time on his side.

but I also think it would've been interesting to compare Floyd's reputation while moving up to welterweight (Mayweather definitely wasn't as hated as now) and Jones reputation during his fifth year as a light heavyweight (Jones had been interrogated on ESPN regarding lack of quality opposition).
    surely the love/hate was opposite

not only Roy Jones, but also pac, duran, hearns, leonard, etc.

....if only he has the HEART to continue fighting.

...Jones Jr is better than Mayweather.
