Besides SRR at WW, which fighter do you rate higher h2h at their peak than Roy Jones Jr. was at 168? So name the fighter and the division you think their h2h better at than Roy was at 168.

He's so good H2H that it's a tall order, but I'd say Ezzard Charles at 175, and Hearns at 154

    Chang at 108
    Hearns at 154
    Armstrong at 126
    Charles at 175

These are the fighters I'd make favourite over everyone in their weight classes. I wouldn't do that with Jones.

Who do you rate above Jones at 168 for example. I get 175, because there are a lot of beasts, but who at 168?

I do rate him at 175, which is where this opinion has stem from, although if any I'd say the G-Man has the best shot. He's virtually untouchable at 168 imo but the OP said 168/175 so I rolled with where I have him as an ATG.

I edited the post. I initially had reservation about putting 175 in the mix because of the stiff resumes there. But h2h, he's a beast, so I added it. Upon further consideration, I edited the OP to just include 168. So if we're talking just 168, do all those people still rate higher in their division George?

Nah, he'd equal them. Although I thought SMW is a particularly weak division, probably along side 122 & 130 and just above CW, 154, 108 & 105. Definitely below the original 8, 140 & 115 imo. I would say that Jones is less likely to take a "proper" loss than most though, he could always get clipped. I'd only give G-Man a good chance of pulling it off. Maybe Lopez is as good at 105 but that's debatable.

And I just realized I have Duran as a dominant H2H #1 at LW too. So I'd say him, Robinson and Charles are the most impressive due to the depth of their divisions.

    Many to be honest.

A head to head standing, can only be earned in the ring.

It is not entirely divorced from resume.

Therefore a record hat leaves many unanswered questions, impacts your head to head standing.

If they had never actually fought, I would probably have made James Toney the favorite!

He'd be in my 10 without needing to think about it much that's for sure.

Tough question as his peak was kinda short- with fights he could have taken but chose not too.

Going by his peak of who he fought--- his output was the highest and his punches taken was the lowest ever recorded. Even his #1 defeat of JT was lessened because JT waited too late to lose weight.

& I'll add SRR to the list.

Here are ten men I would rank over Roy both in a H2H sense and a legacy sense. Roy was a great, great fighter H2H, and topping him is no mean feat.

    1. TBE Big Wang
    2. Battling Jim Johnson
    3. Butterbean
    4. Primo Carnera
    5. John Ruiz
    6. Rocky Marciano
    7. 3K Battery
    8. Gerry Cooney
    9. Peter McNeely
    10. Kimbo Slice
