Hopkins is just so much more skilled and has so much more ability than a sloppy defenced threshing machine volume featherpuncher like Joe though.

    But hey, different strokes.

I say 2-0 us, Skippy getting the first and wee Shaun getting the 2nd after coming on as a sub! :good

Most, not all. I'd save BillButcher from the flames. Maybe Rock0052 as well. He's very biased regarding Joe, but makes some great posts about other things I've noticed.

Basically Hopkins only beat people smaller than him.

    Calzaghe beat Hopkins too, Calzaghe>>>>Hopkins.

I don't get the "Hopkins beat smaller men" criticism when Calzaghe's best win is taking the Lightheavyweight crown by split-decision over a 43-year old career Middleweight.

Calzaghe did not beat ****, he got a decision that he did not deserve to get. You have to land punches to win a fight, its called being the effective aggressor and that was not Calzaghe, because he looked garbage in that fight, and he was not connecting with shots.

The only thing Calzaghe did in that fight was take the lead and force the action, but he did nothing effectively when he got there.

Hopkins did not win it either, because he tried to steal it, but Calzaghe deserved the decision less than Hopkins. At least Hopkins landed when he threw.

Pretty fair assessment of that one.

Calzaghe won 116-111, that's 9 rounds to three.

    End of.

Hopkins spent his career picking on Welterweights like Trinidad and De La Hoya, who can forget the famous interview where he called out Fernando Vargas, Winky Wright and Shane Mosley?

Who can forget Joe fighting lightmiddleweights like Salem and Manfredo? Who can forget Hopkins fighting a natural lhw (Tarver), something Joe never done despite the jump from smw to lhw being less than the jump from mw to lhw?

Like i said he won the decision, he did not win the fight. Trinidad got the decision over DLH, he did not win the fight.

Hopkins spent his career fighting elite fighters. Calzaghe spent his career fighting Ex champions and he never fought or beat an elite fighter. Jones was no longer an elite fighter and he did not beat Hopkins.

B+/C class fighters is who Calzaghe beat. A 38 year old Bomber Graham was schooling Charles Brewer untill he caught upto Herol late. Lacy was no better than Brewer/Mitchell B class fighters.

You need your head examining if you think Calzaghe has a better resume than B Hop.

You must be blind if you scored that fight for Hopkins.

Hopkins spent his career beating up on smaller men or fighting people like Hakkar. Lets not forget Hopkins wanted to fight that "C class" Mitchell before he lost to Calzaghe.
