I'm a calzaghe fan but I have to say b-hop for his resume his lack of 'fear' in that he wants to keep fighting the best-I mean that for me really shows it

However calzaghe has got underrated skills and due to injury had to adapt his style, he has a solid chin and decent resume-not the best and not the worst.

He should really have fought other people outside of the UK and he should have given b-hop a rematch

His fitness level is remarkable especially given his age (36-37)

But even with age look at b-hop! What a great fighter hands down!

Both had a close not so pretty fight, both taught the top guys of their "optimal" weights pavlik and kessler

Voted Hopkins , although to be honest both of them spent enough time fighting pish fighters , but you cant take away from popkins what he has acheived SINCE he turned 40 !

Bad argument. Eubank and Kessler against Trinidad, DHL, Pavlik H2H?? Eubank and Kessler win those fights. Sturm was robbed against DHL for Pete's sake, what do you think a massive SMW like Kessler would do to him? Kessler is a bigger, better version of Pavlik. Eubank would also have a good chance to beat Pavlik, he destroys Trinidad and DHL.

I am impressed with Hopkins' career and his wins against Tarver and Pavlik at his age were amazing. But starpower in beatne opponents is deceiving when it comes to H2H comparisons. Calzaghe beat natural SMW's throughout his career. Hopkins beat one bigger man in Tarver, his other best wins are against fighters who did their best work at lower weights.

    shut up! you hypocrite

Im laughing at all these answers as to why hopkins has a better resume.

He has 2 L's from Taylor. Beaten easily by Jones. Beaten by calzaghe himself.

Ive got to laugh at-'hes beaten de la hoya' lol. At least calzaghes victories came againts fighters in hes own weight divisions---he himself even went up to get hopkins.

Thinking about again, i would say this: Hopkins had a way of winning fights he wasn't supposed to win (Tarver, Pavlik), much like Ali did against Foreman. Calzaghe was simply naturally dominant at his weight. H2H, I would say Calzaghe's opponents are a little better, as I said above, Eubank and Kessler will never have the starpower of DHL or Trinidad, but they both beat them H2H. Hopkins needed a lot more dirty tactics to win fights and if referees would see everything, his record might have been different. Without the fake low blow breaks in his fight against Calzaghe, Hopkins might have been stopped due to exhaustion.

Both are great fighters, very different and not easy to compare. A draw in terms of accomplishments, but I like Calzaghe better for having more class.

Bernard Hopkins has one of the All Time best records. It has been going on since the middle of his career. I pick Hopkins. Calzaghe is awesome also, but we are speaking of rating here.

That's what happens when you fight better opposition, at an earlier stage in your career, and continue to do so for a longer period of time.

I'm sure Hopkins could have stayed unbeaten if he had fought low calibre 'c' class opponents for most of his career, as Calzaghe did.

Hopkins has a stronger resume than Calzaghe. Even the biggest nuthuggers should be able to accept that.

Pavlik, Tarver, Wright, De La Hoya, Trinidad, Joppy, Johnson.....

:lol::lol: your so insecure about calzaghe, you constantly bring him up to try and make you feel better. You mention those name and again i gotta laugh...why dont you mention the weight categories they fought at or where the fighters came from.

Hey, theres always antonio tarver. lol. He did such a big thing by going up and challenging tarver---who he i bet he picked out as someone hed be able to beat. That match(what ive seen of it) was so bad, i dont even want to talk about it.

And 2 L's from taylor. Comon man. Taylors good. But two L's to one fighter--and you supposed to be so great????????
