Who do you regard as the better Heavyweight LEWIS or ALI?

I'm sure Lewis will get some more votes as time goes on. There are some seriously deluded posters on esb and I'm guessing they all got into boxing around the time Lennox was HW champ

not really. Lewis went life and death with Ray Mercer who had previously got beaten by a 42 year old holmes, outboxed by daniami before the uppercut, and beat by furgeson. not to mention he got his ass knocked around by vitali and knocked out by one punch by mccall and rahman.

Maybe not smoked, but Ali would take a decision.

You may, quite understandably, think this thread is comparing Ali and Joe Louis and the thread starter simply mispelt the name.

But no, no no, some on here actually think LENNOX LEWIS is a better HW than Ali

Ali, I really can't see anyone arguing differently. I'd like to hear how Joe Louis is better than Ali because I see some shouts for Louis as the best ever on classic, and I don't happen to know a lot about Old Joe.

 

Without even mentioning the fact that he would also have access to same training and advances that modern fighters have.

As for the original question...................Ali.

 

Ali's record can be torn down too you know, but then I've always thought it's complete pricks that tear down an ATG's achievements to 'up' anothers, would you like me to do that?

 

Lewis barely scrapes into top 10 ATG heavyweight, despite being a good champion. this is not a contest.
