Got to be Kambosis for me. Haney wanted nothing to do with Lomachenko which is why they promoted him to franchise champion to let Haney win a paper belt.
Exactly the sanctioning body situation is a **** show but the media should stop billing a potential fight as a unification. It's a defence, maybe even a mandatory defence but Kambosis is the champion.
Both the WBC title at Lightweight is divided. Kambosos is the WBC Franchise champion and Haney is the WBC Email champion.
It wasn’t really fair to Haney honestly. Loma made his intentions clear after he had the WBA and WBO belt. Teo positioned himself to become the IBF and Haney positioned himself to become the WBC mandatory. Teo gets a shot at the IBF but the WBC allows Loma to fight Campbell for the vacant title and Haney fight a final eliminator for the mandatory shot. After Loma wins Bob Arum petitions for Loma to become Franchise so he doesn’t have to face the mandatory. It really wasn’t fair tbh and the WBC should make it right but they keep contradicting themselves. Had they simply just let Haney and Campbell who were #1 and #2 for the vacant belt this mess wouldn’t have happened.
Devin Haney. Never legitimize Frans*** belt (The belt has no mandatories, equivalent to WBC Mayan Belt).
Don’t even think the Franchise champion is a real world belt tbh, it’s more of a trophy if anything. It’s not like the WBA Super belt, it’s more of a fancy word for the WBC emeritus belt in which I believe Vitali Klitschko is still the champion at heavyweight.
Haney is a title holder, Kambosos is the champ. However, he is not undisputed. That will be settled when he meets Haney in Austalia.
