I think the three current title holders beside himself in Cotto, Margarito, and Williams defeat him by UD or KO/TKO. I also think Mosley and Judah would make interesting fights for Andre. I think he can contend for the top but I don't think he will come out on top, at least for what his record shows for the moment.
How can some people see Berto beating Margarito and especially Cotto. Just think! What would Cotto or Margo have done to a guy like Miki Rodrigues.
Berto Doesn't move enough on his legs nor has enough upper body movement, nor keeps his hands up enough to beat Margarito's unending stamina and granite chin. Even if Cotto wants to beat Margarito hes going to have to box with him. Berto boxing? So far what we've seen with a young Berto is his ability to let his athletic ability do the thinking for him. How is he going to react when he has to get hit 1 2 or 3 times by a Margarito just to land his own shots? Margarito is perfectly willing to get hit to land his own shots for 12 rounds. Berto just doesn't move enough!! No way he beats Margarito, And I don't see Berto's style changing (At least in the leg movement department) EVER, not even in the "Future".
Cotto showed signs of boxing ability and ring generalship/movement - EARLY IN HIS CAREER. Something that some of you seem to deny and neglect. Berto hasn't shown a thing, You can't teach an old dog new tricks. If Berto has been a stationary fighter his entire life, then he most likely is going to remain a stationary fighter his entire life - Major **** like that to ones game really really doesn't change too often in boxers careers. That is a fact. Being able to move on your legs is just as solid of an art to master as effective/technical/speed punching. If you've neglected that aspect of the sport of boxing your entire life, you're unlikely going to pick it up when you're already established within your boxing style/groove. Berto moves decently when he is on the attack, but being able to sustain a movement around the ring, and also using the right leg movement in his defense is a whole different story. You think ever in a million years Felix Trinidad would ever be able to move on his feet like Calderon??? lmfao, And do you think ever in a million years Calderon would ever be able to punch hard in a lb 4 lb sense? Never! It's like telling Miranda to somehow learn how to punch with speed and snap to his punches, that **** won't ever change. That is the major defect in Berto's game. Now you may say, look at how far Trinidad took his lack of defense/foot movement/hell even his chin was sketchy. The main distinction is that Tito had, is his size... he was a massively big and absurdly strong puncher for 147lbs. Berto has the power, but he is small and he doesn't got the size at all. So his limitations are going to show through a lot more than Trinidad's did at 147lbs.
Just got it approved to qualify for nose surgery. I didn't get it looked at within the 10 day period. The bones healed all ****ed up inside so I get to get a "nose job" lmao! Its a good day then I suppose!
I put down Collazo and Cintron foremost. If he beats those guys, depending on how he fairs and how much he learns, i can see him beating Clottey and Quintana. If he can beat Clottey and QUintana, Marg and Williams, is a definite possiblity, although i didn't pick them in the poll. Too much speculation though at this point. It is very hard to call at this point, without seeing him against that level of opponent. I really like watching him fight though, and would love to see him succeed. He is a talented prospect, who has really improved recently. I used to never rate him, but after watching his past few fights, have become quite a fan.
I agree with you. It seems like I am a hater of his, but I am not at all. I will ALWAYS turn on the tv when he is boxing; he is electric. I just like to be objective in my posts, and lets face it; the guy can be outboxed
You're all over the place here. Look at the poll results, Cotto is the one guy that I said Berto doesn't have a legit chance at beating. Even if I did believe he could beat Cotto, I would have to be supremely confident in a Berto win to be willing to bet my house on it. So I don't see the point of this comment. The poll asks who you think Berto could beat, not who you are 100% sure he would beat. Also, I fail to see how Cotto or Margo's projected success against Rodriquez proves that Berto can't beat either guy.
