Also, my list was just straight-up greatness (with the usual balanced weight between achievement on paper and perceived ability).

I wonder how different a pure h2h list might look.

Rocky is obviously still #1 but from there it shakes up a bit. Is Galento #2? (I think he would knock out Carnera and LaStarza a majority of times if he fought aseries with either...but then, would he not probably get soundly outpointed by the tough and vastly more skilled Baby Joe? :think)

    2-5 is a complete toss-up IMO

Ehi Al, it's nothing special, just a generalist TV program looking back at the most important fights of his career, I did it more for practising my english than anything else. Anyway part 2 will come later. Also I would love to sub this video documentary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEG6S17Vxpk regarding '50-60-70 best fighters coming from Sardinia. It's really impressive how many champions came from this small island, I think it's because a good combination of extreme hunger (some part of Sardinia still today have crazy unimployment rates), good pugilistic school and good physical predisposition, they are usually pretty strong (short , as buff as it gets and pretty athletic).
Anyway, regarding material of Franco Zurlo, unfortunately I didn't find any yet. I asked around but no one could help me. It's pretty strange considering how many material we have on other fighters of his era, also considering he was the best bw of his era along with Rollo. I will keep searching and asking around.

Can't find anything Rollo but here's a couple of snips of Burruni. By the way my dad was contracted to fight Burruni in a European title fight in 69. He got the offer to fight for the World title against Lionel Rose and the Burruni fight fell through.

Didn't know that, thanks for the insight, how would you think that fight would have gone? Burruni was pretty old by then, but right in '68 he had time to give a young Zurlo a boxing lesson. He retired in '69 when the fight with your father vanished I guess. Yeah on Burruni there's some fight on youtube, anyway both him and Rollo are presents in the documentary I posted before (they're both sardinians), pieces of their fight and them talking about their career in their older age. I can sub it if someone is interested.

thanks for the links, I'll watch around :good

you can't be more right... terribly underrated (but I can see why.. there's few material and it's not well known overseas.. but his resume speaks for itself: 2 out of 3 with Ortiz - and it could be well 3 out of 3 -, 1 out of 3 with a young prime Perkins -considering the draw a robbery-, in his very last fight.. also considering he was definately already out of his prime and with many hands injuries when all this happened.. when I see how low he is put in some lists i just cringe, but, again, I also understand why.
