I was referring to the live reaction when it happened - from the crowd and RJJ "ohhhhh". Yes when they showed the slow-mo replays of it after the round, RJJ said GGG wasn't hurt but was just off balance, but when it happened live it was shocking and unexpected to see GGG stumble like that, RJJ and the whole crowd reacted like something big happened, the crowd rose to their feet, etc. That's what i was referring to. There's a tendency to overthink things when watching clips in slow-moton. A big moment might not look as bad when you watch it in slow-motion and over-analyze it. But at the time, when it happened, it was shocking to see GGG stumble like that. So it was a big moment whether you want to admit it or not.
Slapping his face? It was a clean punch. The glove did not get there in time. It was so hard you can see the sweat spraying off of GGG's head!! from that big right hand (shout out to Mr. Sweat Spray himself - @BCS8). Then GGG proceeds to instinctively throw a loose right hand Canelo brushes it aside and GGG proceeds to lose his balance and stumbles about causing the crowd to get up off their feet and RJJ to go "ohhhhhhh".

But to you this is just me misinterpreting it all, really nothing happened at all, GGG didn't get hit by a punch he actually blocked it, even though sweat sprayed off his head and it caused him to wobble. OK GGG defender, whatever you say lol.

I can't believe you're trying to compare GGG backing up after that left hand to the belt-line from Canelo to Canelo resetting himself earlier in the round. First of all, GGG was the aggressor, Canelo was on his bike for much of the first match, Canelo went back to the ropes several times. So when GGG backs up like he did there to reset and take a deep breath it suggests that he felt that and needed to regroup. GGG resetting himself there was much more labored and pronounced than the example you're using of Canelo resetting himself. The two are not in any way comparable. When GGG backed up after that punch you could tell he felt it and needed a moment to regather himself.
The problem with your argument is that you're taking a punch that clearly didn't land from GGG, the hook attempt near the end of the round and at first you were arguing that it did land. I pointed out that Canelo avoided it, but also that it was hard to see due to the camera. You admit now that you can't even really see it too well due to the camera angle, but again you originally claimed it landed. Now you're not sure. Canelo appeared to avoid it completely. And you're trying to compare that to a punch from Canelo that clearly landed, the lead right hand at 1:52. First you said it hit shoulders, now you're saying it only only grazed his cheek. It hit GGG hard to the side of his face. Every punch isn't the same, some you can see clearer than others. Like whether or not that left hook to the body at 1:34 from Canelo landed on the hip or the left side of the belt-line, that we can see differently no problem. There are other punches that are hard to see, where we can disagree. But certain punches are pretty clear to see like that lead right hand from Canelo, yet you try to argue it didn't land.

By the way that lead right hand from Canelo at 1:52, that punch reminded me of the lead right hands that Roy Jones used to throw, the way he threw it, leaning a bit then getting it in there. There's no way you can discredit that punch.

"The crowd and commentators reacted to it like it was a big moment "
Oh so you want to give credence to the commentators & crowd in this instance yet... the fact that minimum 80% of Crowd, Professionals all have GGG winnings is OK ..but on that you cannot accept their thoughts lol

Think you're misinterpreting what I've said (in part my fault for not using the respond feature). The right hand from Canelo at 2:25-27 lands...but actually looking back at it, that could have potentially landed partially on GGGs glove but it did nevertheless land. Golovkin being off balance/stumbling = not necessarily hurt...and it being a big moment does not necessarily mean anything either especially in context of the entire round. Big moment does not equal Golovkin being hurt.

However, I'm talking about the right hand from Canelo at 2:12 which quite clearly hits the glove before make contact. And I'm not defending GGG I couldn't care less if he had won this or not...what I care about is objective boxing that doesn't score inside glove slapping, and punches that barely land clean.

    Replying to your second comment:
You're misinterpreting what I'm saying..I'm saying look at 1:42...Canelo Lands a slap hook to GGG's gloves, then GGG resets himself ..I'm not talking about Canelo...GGG resets himself after a punch that Canelo doesn't land..he, and many other boxers do this cosntantly whether a punch lands or not. GGG also resets himself after Canelo throws an inside glove slap, which is what it was, to Golovkin's hip.

In regrads to Golovkins right hand at the end this is what I originally said and you can check this:

"0:14 three solid jabs, two from GGG one from Canelo. Good right hand GGG that looks to land."

I also mention in the original comment that Canelo rolls with it. I sepcifically said "looks to land" I did not say it definitely landed. You said you were 95/8% sure it didn't land despite Golovkin being in range for the RH and Canelo sweat flying as he rolls with it (that could just be the motion of the head).. you were the one making grand assumptions.

The lead right hand you believe landed clean and flush at 1:52 is just maddening honestly, like I said at best, it at best scraped Golovkin's cheek, and did not look forceful at all even if it did scrape his cheek. Think you're being a bit dishonest here, just watch 1:55-1:52 in 0.25x speed AND normal speed, if you're going to argue that is a forceful (or just a clean punch)clean punch then I just don't know what to say because it isn't and I suspect the majority of people here and the judges would not consider that a clean punch. How can you score grazing shots (I suspect it wasnt even that)? It's neither clean punching or doing damage, its literally grazing, it's almost like worth less than a probing jab.

I'm not using a respond feature. I'm just manually copy and pasting the quote codes to avoid confusion on which part of your quote I'm responding to. This helps make it clear what part of your post I'm responding to.
Good, whatever the confusion was, I'm glad you made this clear. It landed and landed hard, sweat spraying everywhere. I'm sure you can understand my frustration with it appearing like you were trying to tell me this was blocked.
Fair point, I'm not claiming GGG was for sure hurt, but he did sort of do a dance there, which even while throwing a punch himself and having it pushed away, sometimes happens when a figthter loses balance a second or two after a punch lands as a delayed reaction to a punch. It was either a delayed reaction to the right hand, OR it was simply GGG trying to load up on his return fire right hand too quickly without having his feet under him, or some combination of them both. Still just seeing GGG stumbled at all was eye-opening particularly after a big shot that was put together nicely as a one-two combo by Canelo. (I know the first punch, the left was blocked)
I see, you were refering to that right hand, not the one at 2:25. That must have been where the confusion was. The right hand from Canelo with 2:11 on the clock, that landed right as the clock turned to 2:10. To be perfectly honest with you, GGG got some of his glove on it. Maybe like 20% glove, 80% face. Still landed hard, moved GGG's head and was flashy and noticiable since Canelo moved back to create the space. GGG for some reason kept his glove a little lower than he could have. He probably could have blocked that more had he had his glove higher but he kept keeping his gloves lower like around the neck allowing looping punches like this to get in over his glove.

So yes I see what you mean that it got some glove, but lets be real - it mostly landed, and it had a lot on it. I care about objective boxing too man. Even though I'm a Canelo fan, I give GGG plenty of credit where it's due. And I appreciate the lively debate Quina and your genuine desire to explain what you're seeing so I understand where your coming from. I don't claim to seen things perfectly or be infallible, anyone can call me out if they disagree with something I'm saying.
In all honestly though, this comparison really doesn't equate. I went back and looked at this - GGG doesn't really reset himself at 1:42. Yes I agree the hook was blocked by GGG, but it connected and sort of moved GGG back a half-step, then GGG quickly proceeded to come forward again. I wouldn't even call that a reset, I would just call that a quick pause from blocking a shot, then resume moving forward.

However the one at 1:34 was different, that one GGG who was coming forward trying to land a right hand with Canelo near the ropes, after receiving that left hook to the belt-line area, proceeded to take 3 steps back, then moved to his right a step then took some deep breaths before re-engaging. Whether it landed on the hip, or just inside the hip, lets just say it's hard to be sure exactly where it landed, except that it landed on or near the belt-line. It wasn't low. But GGG clearly felt that and he reacted as if he was hit with a debilitating body shot rather than a hip shot. That wasn't the same as the mini-pause that your talking about at 1:42, where GGG really didn't back-up there, he just was pushed back a half-step momentarily by the force behind the punch that he blocked.

OK fair enough. I just objected to the idea that it landed. It looked to me that it completely missed as Canelo pulled back and turned his head and since the camera was behind him, I could see how you might have thought that landed as a quick turn of the head to evade could be interpreted as the head turning from a landed punch.

Here's another angle from a fan camera -

    This content is protected

about 2:40-2:45 in the video. A little blurry but looks to me like he narrowly avoided it. This angle's just a little bit left of the HBO camera angle in that moment which was from the cameraman standing on the apron which was the main HBO live camera in that moment that you can see from this fan cam.

And read the comments under this youtube video, you'll laugh since 3 of those 4 comment is talking about the "oh ****" moment lol. The filming this almost dropped his camera when he saw GGG stumble.

Watch it from the fan camera. The lead right hand at 1:52 on the clock is at about 1:04 in this video - so watch it from 1:00 on to see it develop.

You might see that punch differently after seeing it from this angle. You can see GGG's head is impacted from it, and from this angle you see that lead right hand from Canelo landing as it did, caused GGG to miss the left hook completely as Canelo leaned back to the ropes. At the same time, to GGG's credit, this angle also shows a better view of GGG's follow-up straight right hand landing than the HBO angle which was obscured from Canelo reaching out his left arm to clinch.

Again GGG stumbling does not equal being hurt which you've seemed to heavily imply he was.

    Look here:
    This content is protected

0:53 Canelo takes a jab and does a jelly like body movement
0:55 Canelo takes a good jab and then stumbles off balance

In either these instances a punch clearly landed, but you can't tell whether he was hurt just like you can't with the right hand landing from Canelo in Rd 10. And as someone pointed out you're happy to claim the crowds reaction to the punch means something but not their general thoughts on the actual outcome of the fight.

The right hand from Canelo at 2:12 hits more than just 20% glove come on man. And of course hitting a glove attached to someone's face is going to move the head its a non argument. Hitting the gloves will most certainly dampen the impact further on.

Dude what Golovkin did at 1:43 was absolutely a reset, you're just being dishonest here. Canelo slapped Golovkins glove, so it didn't connect, then Golovkins left foot literally took a wide step back. The same happens with GGG at 1:34, but Golovkin takes 0.5-1 seconds more than previously before resuming his offence. And anyway, that punch clearly lands inside glove on the hip/lower back if you watch the segment in normal speed and at 0.25x. You simple can't claim thats a clean punch.

I watched the clip several times and like I said " Canelo at best scrapes Golovkins left cheek with a probing right hand that does absolutely nothing..." you explicitly arguing it "clearly landed" "landed flush and clean" is simply untrue as it did not land clean. And again, I suspect most people and judges would not score that as any form of clean punch . You're just being dishonest with some of these points to be honest. Claiming numerous punches are landing clean, flush, hard... When they're neither.. Grazing punches, inside glove slaps are not what I or any objective judge of boxing would score let score as clean

Reading this & for some reason Shadow came to mind, probably as its a fairly laborious ,long read...
    Manure... An interesting fact.

    Manure
: In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything for export had to be transported by ship. It was also before the invention of commercial fertilizers, so large shipments of manure were quite common.

It was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, not only did it become heavier, but the process of fermentation began again, of which a by-product is methane gas. As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see what could (and did) happen. Methane began to build up below decks and the first time someone came below at night with a lantern, BOOOOM!

Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was determined just what was happening

After that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the instruction ' Stow high in transit ' on them, which meant for the sailors to stow it high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the hold would not touch this “volatile” cargo and start the production of methane.

Thus evolved the term ' S.H.I.T ' , (Stow High In Transit) ,............. "So it's really not a swear word"

which has come down through the centuries and is in use to this very day.

You probably did not know the true history of this word.

    Neither did I

I had always thought it was a acronym for a Shadow ....

Look at what Pac is doing at 42 and compare that to what GGG fans are willing to accept as "reasonable" right now. Once in a generation fighter my ass

No I love it that's why I can't stand young fans giving credit where it isn't deserved. Ggg is washed at 36 after fighting no hopers for 90% of his career but Pac still taking on elite fighters who dwarf him

GGG stumble in the 10th round was far longer and more noticeable than either of those examples.

No one with hope to make carrer further wished to have prime GGG in the ring. That's it what it is and this like with prime Beterbiev and Gvozdyk, they had some boxers who assumed that they will beat them up and were wrong.
    Nothing more.

Pro boxer in U.S does need to have U.S or Mexican origin and feeded by bums crushing carrrer like D.W and G man cos for noobs bags beat up in the ring and to beatup guy with last his fights 4 lost via stoppage is PRIDE IF BOXER DOES HAVE PROPER ORIGIN AND PASSPORT then BEAT BUMS AND BE HAPPY.

Funny how your talking about "american born" Wilder and an unamed "mexican born fighter" (presumably Canelo) when I was talking about Pacquiao.

Ggg fans are calling journeymen "reasonable challenges" for him yet he stands as the top ranked middleweight, he's 36 and yet has never been in a proper war in his entire career while Pac is 42 been in multiple wars with all time greats and taking on arguably one of the best p4p fighters in the world who holds every physical advantage over him. Greatness is earned with blood and tears and ggg chose the path of least resistance. You want me to believe every fighter from eastern europe invokes fear into the rest of the world and are conspired against. Sorry not buying that excuse.
