HILL: Tiozzo, Tate, Valle, Stewart, Maske. WLAD: Pulev, Povetkin, Haye, Ibragimov, Chagaev. Those would be their best respective wins I guess. Is it clear for one or the other?
Also Byrd 1 for Wlad. Hill 2 wins over Tiozzo. I'd go with Wlad here, but Hill's really underestimated LHW
The 2 wins over Byrd are good. I'd add Peter, Williamson, Brewster II, Thompson x2, Jefferson, McCline, Barrett... even Schulz, Botha, and Nicholson were decent wins.
Virgil Hill was very good though. He should have fought Charles Williams. His wins over Stewart, Tate x2, Tiozzo, Washington, Maske, DelValle, and Czyz stand out. He was durable, never suffered a KO loss until "ya'll musta forgot" when he was past prime and struggling to make 175.
I would ad Bobby Czyz to Hill's record and Chris Byrd to Wlad's, but I see that some posters already mentioned those suggestions. I think its fairly close to where picking either would be fair. I think the only two things that would make me rate Hill higher p4p is that he had fewer prime losses and was beaten only by elite men while being at his best or close to his best. Also a two division champion, though his capturing a title at cruiser wasn't much to write home about. Hill is underrated these days in my opinion. On another boxing forum I debated with a few guys who didn't even feel he was a top 30 light heavyweight.
