With due respect, it is not about his athleticism, only resume at the weight.
Any particular stand out wins that you are thinking of?

    Fair posting
You point to the body of work which is a fair debate.

Would you feel that overall Ottke has a greater resume at SMW than Ward?
Ward has a better win over Kessler and possibly/debated Froch but overall Ottke has the far greater body of work
    As an example?

Do you think Pavlik at LHW could have beaten Woods or Telesco etc?

Without a doubt it's Jones Jr. Hopkins wouldn't even be a hall of famer off of his light heavyweight run. His reputation rests entirely on his record at middleweight and then his drug fueled longevity.

Do you really not think a fighter who became the oldest LHW champ
    Oldest champ
Who won the Ring LHW title
Won the WBC WBA and IBF LHW titles would not be Hall of fame?

Yeah, you're right. They let anybody into the hall of fame these days. My point is that by the time Bernard returned to light heavyweight people weren't saying "He's such an amazing fighter." They were saying "He's such an amazing fighter for his age."

His accomplishments at light heavyweight are very thin. 38 year old Tarver, drunken middleweight Pavlik, shot Roy Jones, prime Jean Pascal, losses to Chad Dawson, beats the unimpressive Tavoris Cloud who never wins again, Karo Murat, and Shumenov.

    Bernard’s longevity deserves huge respect.

His win over Pascal was absolutely fantastic for his age.

His win over Tarver was awesome, if Tarver wasn’t drained.

His performance over Pavlik was awesome. But Pavlik was a MW.

I can’t rate his win over Winky, as Winky was a career JMW.

He deserves huge credit for hanging with Kovalev at almost 50.

I think he deserved a draw against Joe.

All in all, he has a very good resume, especially considering his age.

Roy had an easy win over a faded, end of career McCallum.

He had spectacular knockout win over Griffin in just a single round.

He had avgreat knockout win over Hill.

He put in a great performance against a very good version of Reggie Johnson.

    He smashed up Richard Hall.

He had a very hard fought win against Eric Harding.

    He toyed with Woods.

    He easily beat Harmon.

    He easily beat Gonzalez.

His best win at the weight, is when he burnt muscle to drop back from HW to beat Tarver.

    It’s close.

Bernard’s longevity can’t be ignored. Beating world class guys in his mid to late 40’s, was just incredible.

His wins over Pavlik and Winky are devalued though due to them not being LHW’s.

For me, Roy has the deeper resume, and he beat the majority of his opposition more emphatically.

I’ve got to go with Roy.

    Gotta give it to Hopkins..
He beat Tarver Pascal Cloud and Shumenov and he got in the ring with all the other dominant LHWs (Kovalev, Dawson, Calzaghe) during his LHW run..

Jones LHW resume isn’t bad but during his time there was another dominant LHW whom have the same wins and say he was the best LHW of his era.. Bottom line is Jones Jr vs Michalczewski should have happened just like Kovalev vs Stevenson..

 When did I say I wasn't hating? Of course I'm ****ing hating. That's the whole bloody point but even then a large percentage of the time I'm not even being serious and it's meant to be taken in a humorous way. But it has absolutely nothing to do with me disliking Roid because, again, I don't dislike him at all and I never have. You want me to lie and tell you otherwise?

The only thing I dislike about him is his penchant for blood sports which I find truly repugnant. In fact, that really should be enough to fill me with a deep aversion to him but that aside he's always come across fairly likeable and amiable chap to me to me and I think he was a great fighter and he's one of the tiny handful of commentators I actually enjoy listening to. My issue is and always has been with some of his fans and do I really need to explain why they need reminding he was a steroid cheat?

You say Tarver was drained when Hopkins beat him, but say Jones had a great KO over Hill. Are you aware of the late weigh in? Could Hill have been drained due to a late weigh in?

Do you think Pavlik could have beaten Woods at LHW? Woods didnt look great against Tarver who had been beaten by Hopkins

You note some of Jones wins like Harmon. Do you not rate Hopkins win over Murat for example?
