In terms of pure functional strength, I'd say Fury as he is 40 pounds heavier and 3 inches taller. He doesn't have the muscle definition of Joshua, but that is largely because his body fat % is higher.

Fury. He has a larger frame and thicker bones. He definitely generates more power with that gargantuan body.

Joshua has relatively narrower shoulders and thinner frame.

The videos of Fury in the gym are all you need to see. He lifted 160 or 180kg deadlifting and his spine was close to severing. For someone that weighs 120+ kg, that's not strong in any way. It was painful to watch (as reference, Terence Crawford deadlifts 180kg). The videos of him squatting and lifting weights on Instagram were just as painful. Fury’s lumbering and awkward. His stature is unbalanced and his technique suffers because of it - he will never lift heavy weight.

Blown-up muscles aside, Joshua is much more balanced. From top to bottom, he has a build that is explosive. Deadlifting 270kg for reps, 160kg Bench for reps and 200kg squats are pretty impressive for his height - let alone a boxer. However, it's done him no good as a fighter, the oxygen required to power his robot physique is incredibly detrimental in a high-intensity sport. If he put on some fat his gas tank would improve quite dramatically.

Just because you're big, doesn't mean you're strong. Just ask any front-rower in rugby.
For what it's worth, both Fury and Joshua have benefitted from the use of steroids during their respective careers. If you think Fury is a clean fighter, you're sadly mistaken.

It's no coincidence that Fury started knocking people out again since being popped for nandrolone decanoate. Prior to the Klitschko fight, he couldn't knock the skin off a pudding. Miraculously, he had more snap and sting on his punches. He's never been a big puncher, but he has more pop.

Joshua on the other hand has one of the most obvious HGH guts in boxing history. Coming from the bodybuilding circuit, anyone with prior experience would point that out immediately.

Fury was much stronger in the clinch vs Klitschko than AJ was and Fury is bigger and stronger than he was in that fight.

I think Joe Joyce is easily the strongest man in the heavyweight division today

As for these two? idk. I reckon AJ would have a higher deadlift, squat, overhead press and bench press; but maybe Fury is stronger in terms of grappling or pushing against each other in a scrum

AJ's strength is artificial due to weights and protein shakes, but at the same time I don't think Fury is close to guys like Joyce and Lennox

Joshua is physically stronger. He’s on that Hearn UKAD under the table envelope regimen.

Lewis was getting pushed back in the clinch more often than not by Vitali despite being 8.5 lbs heavier and I don't think Vitali was much stronger than Wlad, certainly not better at grappling in the clinch. Lewis was also much lighter than Fury and Joyce and heavyweights were smaller in those days anyway.

Joshua. He also would win an armwrestling match and street fight

Fury isn't used to train with heavy weights, he does exercises with 20lb dumbbells

Let's see what Fury hater and Joshua fanboy Tony Bellew has to say:

"He (Joshua) knows that Fury will be using his weight advantage and when you get in the ring with him (Fury), you soon realise this guy can really move."

How would Fury be "using his weight advantage"? By overpowering the shorter, 20-30 lbs lighter Joshua in the clinch.

6'3.5, 240 lbs Pulev was getting the better of Joshua in the clinch, putting him in headlocks.

Who do you think man.. Look at them. Fury is only 6'7, 6'8 at the absolute most btw. Are you saying the ~2 inches of height make up for the chiselled bodybuilder physique vs skinnyfat bodies?

Clearly AJ. Our view of Fury is skewed by the glass chins of Wilder and Whyte.
