Who do you think is the better boxer: Andre Ward or Andre Dirrell?

Ward is better. Dirrell is more careless and more sloppy. Both are exceptions. A fight between Ward and Dirrell would be great.

 

I voted Dirrel but it is close I like Dirrels speed

 

Id say Ward. Dirrell makes a lot of mistakes defensively. His offense can be very good but only when its at the right distance. Ward controls the distance better and is the better ring general.

Ward on the inside, Dirrell on the outside. Fight will be decided on distance.

 

Ward has always been better. I remember when Dirrell beat Oganov everyone thought he was better than Ward, but Ward is just the much much smarter fighter on top of having many of the physical tools that Dirrell has.

 

Um, Dirrell for me, but I'm placing a lot of this opinion on last night. Coming into the fight Abraham had an impressive record in title fights and whilst I knew it was a bad match up style wise, I didn't expect Dirrell to dominate as he did. He seemed to take the punches quite well (other than the finisher) and his combinations were a joy to watch. He has speed, pop in his punches and mixes his attacks very well.

I'm not that sold on Ward but will see how he develops in the rest of the tournament.

 

Its great for the sport that 2 good american fighters have come through, although i have seen neither much (which makes my vote useless lol). I went for Ward, as when he stepped out first time round he produced the goods. Althought Dirrel also produced the goods first time around, he wasn't far off.

But to me they don't seem to far apart, both look the business.

 

I think both are very skilled, but Ward right now seems to have more maturity, Dirrell really impressed me yesterday but I think he can still improve more.

 

Ward looks like a special talent,everything he does just comes natural,the way he controls the distance,his timing,the way he uses the ring to his advantage really impresses me,that coupled with his speed, great reflexes and good defense puts him in my view on another level compared to Dirrell who so far hasnt impressed me at all.

they`re both fine boxers,good amateur pedigree. i would put them on the same level

 

ward is more disciplined
dirrell is way more talented

 

ward is two handed, faster and very good offensively and defensively. dirrell doesnt throw enough punches and will only do well against a very stationary oppenent like abraham and kessler.
