Who do you think is the most overated fighter of either this decade or the 1990s

Nobody has ever dominated an arguably p4p no 1 like Jones did to Toney. I think I gave 1 round to Toney, being generous. Hopkins was young, but so was Roy.... Roy beat him up pretty good, clear victory, Roy wasn't his best either... Roy peaked a year or two later, not the same fighter that killed Toney. Hopkins knows this, and it pisses him off to this day.

Roy started at 154 and won a heavyweight belt, against a heavyweight that has been in the ring with some of the best heavyweights of his generation.

Along the path, has beaten 15 world champions, hardly losing a round, showing a craft that has yet to be seen since Sugar Ray Leonard. Roy Jones was a sight to see, i followed his whole career..... He is not overrated.... He is simply one of the best.:yep

 

Calzaghe is overrated, but only due to his opposition...he's had his achievements and is STILL undefeated...so no...he avoids the bullet

same with RJJ...

Lacy is the biggest overrated fighter...by far...and Mayorga (he was touted as being "undisputed" champion at one point :-( )

I think Pavlik might be going down that road soon...too early to say

I'd say Forrest-Mosley I was around the same level. Hopkins-Trinidad is also up there. While Trinidad seemed to be "in the fight" as opposed to Toney, the only round I gave Tito was the first.

 

Mike Tyson DESTROYED his opponents in his prime.And in his prime he would have wrecked Lewis as well.

He also knocked out an undefeated, top ranked p4p fighter in Michael Nunn when he was a middleweight.

When Toney was a super middleweight, he was considered the 2nd best p4p fighter in the world.

When Toney was a cruiserweight (more or less, a few pounds over), he got a razor-thin decision against the world-famous Terry McGroom.

Jones NEVER beat a linear, unified, or undisputed Champion in his whole career Leonard did. Glass Jaw Roy wrote the book on handpicking fights.
