IMHO, the reason why he took this fight was he wanted to build his credibility after the Mayweather fight. That's what boxers do, they rebuild after a loss. And usually they try to rebuild by beating up on inferior fighters. After a couple of these kind of fights, he's a contender again. Mosley fought Mora because he needed to look good against someone to get big fights again.

Unfortunately for Mosley, it did not work out for him, it's time to retire. He's still a recognisable name, and he can still make money for his promoters. GBP will match him against up and coming fighters in their stable to make those young bucks look good and recognisable by saying that they beat a name boxer like Mosley. But as far is Mosley is concerned, the Mora fight showed people that he is no longer a contender. From this point forward, he is just like Roy Jones, Jr; a recognisable name but no longer competitive.

He'd love to face Pac or Cotto, but he'll get neither. It's really a no-brainer: it will be Andre Berto, and sadly the end of Shane Mosley despite that IMO Berto is overrated and overpaid by HBO (anyone with good handspeed 'wows' Lampley and Merchant while they call Alvarez slow and just 'solid'). The fact is that Mosley is shot and Rafael pointed out in the chat that he's already slurring, and once the Berto fight is over, he'll be slurring a lot worse.

BTW if Mosley wants another big fight then IMO he needs a victory. The perfect guy to do this agianst is Alfonso Gomez do it at Welterweight the kid is a top 20 contender and has a nack for retiring the big names so you can build a fight on that. Also Gomez is mostly a brawler and would be made to order for Mosley to rip apart his face similar to the Margarito fight. Id hate to see the Berto fight at this point, Berto is just to active and fast at this point. Id give Mosley a shot but he likely loses. Mosley is still a top 10 Welterweight but I think its smart to match him up alittle better. Id be into a Cotto rematch the 1st fight was very competitive and neither is the same fighter now infact id say Cotto is worse off then Mosley is.

Shane should probably retire. But I doubt he will. He'll probably get Berto or Cotto. But he definitely should leave 54 alone.

I was thinking the same. He should retire because a guy like him will fight guys he really shouldn't be fighting at his current state.

Before Mosley steps in against the likes of a KILLER like Berto or Cotto again, he'd better show that he can still trade, and prove he can still beat wannabees like Mora.
Dont shoot me guys, but I think he should rematch Mora, and prove he has what it takes to stay in this game.

I would love to see him smash Berto. Not only will it be Berto's biggest test - but we can really see what Shane has left. If he wins - I would love to see a rematch with Cotto. If Margarito wins - I wouldn't mind seeing that fight again either. I doubt if he gets the Pac fight or a Mayweather rematch - but the others above would work just fine with me.
