Who Do You Think Will Unanimously Crack P4P Top 10 Lists in the next 18 Months? {Poll}

The winner of Opetaia/Ramirez unification fight definitely deserves a spot.

If Ennis fights Murtazaliev, the winner of that fight deserves a spot.

 

Realistically, P4P lists are just about how much boxers can impress the boxing journalists who know about them, especially if we're talking about "unanimously," which I presume would mean they'd need to be voted in as P4P by The Ring and TBRB. Boots has a lot of opportunities to impress at 154, he already has high name recognition value, and his style is flashy enough for him to look good even to people who don't really know much about boxing. If he beats anybody of note at 154 like Vergil then I think he'd start to get added onto prominent P4P lists pretty quickly. It also helps that he keeps fairly active, which increases his exposure and how many different guys he'll be able to fight.

Janibek won't find anyone well-known enough at 160 for him to be placed on P4P lists despite having P4P level skills. He's not as exciting or dynamic as GGG and so doesn't get the same exposure, so is unlikely to wind up on P4P lists even if he cleans out 160 and goes undisputed.

If and when Fernando Martinez beats Bam Rodriguez, then he very well might end up on P4P lists. But only really if he beats Bam because of how highly praised Bam is by the American boxing media.

There aren't enough big fights around 175 for Benavidez to crack P4P lists unanimously. Bivol and Beterbiev both beat him and I think Callum Smith is a live dog if Benavidez pursues that fight. Even if Opetaia unifies CW there will still be a lot of questions about him and his quality, especially since Badou Jack is old and both he and Zurdo started out at MW and SMW, respectively. Keyshawn has squandered his reputation a lot by missing weight and I think a lot of people will hold that against him even if he goes onto have a very good run. If Hitchins unifies with anybody at 140 then I think he'd get on a lot of lists, but I'm not sure how much anybody at 140 really wants to fight him and I'm certain that Teofimo won't want to fight him. Nick Ball is really good and should be unified champ but he's getting run over by Inoue soon, and win or lose, I reckon Sam Goodman will make him look bad. 130 has been allergic to unifications and that's where Espinoza is headed and means he'll likely struggle to garner much attention.

Boots and Pumita have the best shots imo.
