Floyd won, and the fight was a quintessential example of why you cannot simply rely on numbers (not that the numbers were inaccurate). Nearly every clean shot was landed by Floyd, I don't think you could put together a compilation of 10 Castillo shots that landed right on the button in the way Floyd's did all night. Effective aggression wins the fight, Floyd landed the cleaner and harder shots all night, Floyd wins 7-4-1 (9-9 round in the 11th).

I'm just about tired of nonsense like this.

I scored for Mayweather, but get this crappola and insinuation out of here that just because Mayweather blocks and rolls with alot of punches he evades everything.

Castillo in the latter half of the fight scored with plenty and even hurt Mayweather.

Even looking at the fight as a whole, Castillo hurt Mayweather alot more than Mayweather hurt him.

Fights however are scored on a round by round basis, and doing that, Mayweather ends up winning 7-5 on my card.

I'm just tired of this **** around this forum stereotyping that certain defensive fighters only get hit on arms and elbows.
Stop with this nonsense, these clowns dont block everything!

Floyd may have lost the fight it was very close. He is not the first or the last to get a decision go his way that is questionable. Want to make a list of fighters that got saved by the judges it will be a mile long!

well dude you score fights based on

    effective aggression
    defense
    ring generalship

if the defensive fighter is blocking and dodging alot of the punches but not throwing back id score it for defense, though if the puncher lands a nice solid shot on him id instantly score it for the aggressor

and its pretty relevant at the moment as this seems to be why people scored the broner paulie fight for paulie

defensive fighters always have it tougher.

Both Mayweather and Broner were doing alot of what you've decribed, but they were also getting their ass tagged.
You dont turn a blind eye to the connects just because a good sum of the shots are being evaded.

Like I said, I scored Mayweather-Castillo 7-5 for Mayweather, the rounds Castillo layed effective hands on Mayweather go to him.
I gave Castillo 5 but a couple of more were close enough that can turn and go to him as well.

    Castillo clearly won.

    I scored it 116-112, 8 rounds to 4.

I just re-watched the entire fight. It was fuking very close and castillo fought harder, showed more grit and determination, landed the better power shots, seemed to have floyd shaken at times. It wasn't a wipe out by any means but either fighter. A draw would have been fair, but no way floyd won by more than 1-2 points.

Castillo leading by almost double the votes. Close, but clear win for Castillo.

Nope, not if you are fighting the champ and not if you are fighting Mayweather, if you have alot of close rounds, those rounds are going to Floyd. Unless it is pacman those rounds are going to the champ. You are not going to get a decision oover ali in a close fight, close rounds are going to go to the champ. You want to win knock the guy out, you put it in the judges hand, in a close fight, you lose your right to complain, you should have knocked the man out. :bbb

I watch that fight so many times and Mayweather barely squeaked that win but that's castillo fault because he lost a lot of early rounds and came on late. I can see also see the other side of fans stating that castillo won also but in rematch it was quite clear was the better of the two.

The votes here don't count. If you are a boxing fan, and you kept it real, you know that Floyd clearly won.
