Mayweather won 8-4 IMO. Maidana threw a lot of punches but hardly landed. I don't think Maidana won a round after the sixth round.

Close fight and some rounds could have gone either way but I had floyd winning rounds 2,6,7,9,10 clearly. Maidana winning rounds 3,4,8,11 and I wouldn't say clearly but he edged those rounds. Rounds 1,5,12 could have gone either way. Good fight ok with the result as I think you have to beat the champion even if its by a single round and I don't think Maidana did, not conclusively.

All I know is Maidana outlanded Mayweather those stats are way off while Floyd landed cleaner. At 37 Floyd still fights excellent, but I don't think he won last night. A draw is what really happened and Floyd lucky he was in Vegas and he the A side with the judges on his side. The 114-114 card was the only good scorecard the rest were trash.

Floyd made that fight a lot more difficult than it had to be in the first half of the fight. He should've stayed off the ropes and kept the fight in the center of the ring. I don't know what he was thinking by staying on the ropes for long periods of time in the first 6 rounds and allowing Maidana to hit him with clean body shots and shots at the back of Mayweather's head.

Maidana fought the best possible fight for his style. He luckily wasn't deducted any points in the fight even though he nailed FLoyd with some clear low blows and many shots on the back of his head.

Maidana did the better body work and FLoyd did the better work upstairs between the 2. I thought FLoyd won the majority of the rounds after Rd 6, with a good portion of them being very clear cut.

I saw it twice now, and the closest I have it is 8-4 with the possibility of FLoyd winning 9 rounds. Round 4 was sort of a swing round, FLoyd landed the better shots and that was the round Maidana opened up a cut on his eye with a headbutt. So if you score round 4 for Maidana, than it's conceivable he won 4 rounds in this fight.

    I had FLoyd winning round 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11 and 12.

Competitive fight no doubt. But FLoyd could've made it a much easier fight if he decided to use his reach advantage and not play possum on the ropes for as long of periods as he did.

Round 6 I felt was a very close round that I wouldnt argue either way. Round 5 surprised me how Maidana was doing well with jabs. Round 11 was a very close round that I feel could be argued either way but went with Maidana. Round 12 was very close and I feel could have been seen either way

    Floyd/Maidana 0/0
    Round 1 Maidana 9/10
    Round 2 Mayweather 19/19
    Round 3 Maidana 28/29
    Round 4 Maidana 37/39
    Round 5 Maidana 46/49
    Round 6 Mayweather 56/58
    Round 7 Mayweather 66/67
    Round 8 Maidana 75/77
    Round 9 Mayweather 85/86
    Round 10 Mayweather 95/95
    Round 11 Maidana 104/105
    Round 12 Mayweather 114/114

No problem how anyone saw the fight and I can see arguements for both.
    I scored a draw

The judge who scored a draw scored the same as I did except for rounds 11 and 12 which he saw as 11 Mayweather, 12 Maidana

Nasty body shots and clean right hands won the fight for Money, I really hope there's a rematch.

    Rounds

    1 maidana
    2 mayweather
    3 maidana
    4 maidana
    5 maidan
    6 maidana
    7 mayweather
    8 maidana
    9 mayweather
    10 mayweather
    11 mayweather
    12 maidana

Round 6 could be given either way

Honest opinion, I think maidan used pressure and aggression won him the fight on points

I think by round 7 mayweather was timing him a nd. Had figured out
But to his credit maidana pulled out a strong round 8 and round 12 otherwise the second half of the fight Floyd came on strong and looked like the guy he was

    That tells Maidana won.

You land roughly the same amount of punches clean, but one threw 400 more.

Put it this way, if Floyd lands 1 punch, Maidana lands 1 punch, BUT Maidana lands 20 extra punches which are blocked and partially blocked, who won the round?

The simple way to judge this is

On the ropes maidana got the better of him overall

In the middle Floyd destroyed him

The fight was 80% on the ropes

Floyd's inside game is A+ make no mistake, he was superb
He didn't need to resort to ***** tactics like bhop or ward either

Maidana was literally like a bull in a china shop and Floyd was like a sniper in the same shop

Bull destroys everything and because he hits everything he lands some great shots on the sniper
Sniper lands much fewer shots but every single one is inch perfect

I did score a round even, and had Maidana 116 to 115, easily could have given
it to Floyd by a point or two, close rounds. I did like How Mayweather started feinting
the **** out of Maidana in the second half of the fight. Rematch is uneccessary,
as Floyd would easily win. Any excuse they can come up with to avoid Pac.

I had it 7-5 or a draw. Close fight and I'll have to score it again.

I had it 116-112 for Floyd and I could easily see it being scored 115-113. Much better and more competitive fight than I expected.

    Maidana close but clear.

Floyd might take a rematch, since he'll be able to train and make specific adjustments for the fight, and I would favor him to win the rematch. It's obvious Floyd and his people were caught off guard in this fight and were expecting to see more of Chino the B- boxer instead of a good pressure fighter. Floyd can't be so flat footed in the rematch, which will be a challenge for him now at this age. Chino would make adjustments too for the rematch. But he is not a natural pressure fighter and got tired in the second half of the fight, letting Floyd off the hook. So as I said I would favor Floyd.

But I also would not be surprised if Floyd ducked a rematch and found someone easier for him to fight. Of course, Floyd still goes nowhere near Manny or Tim. Even at this age I think he easily outboxes Porter or Thurman.

I also predict he will continue to duck Khan, who presents too many challenges for him. I have always said that I would be surprised if Floyd fights Khan, since he would not enjoy his usual height, reach and speed advantage, and who would certainly outwork him. As Paulie pointed out last night, Khan if very good at winning rounds.
