Who do you think won? Ray Mercer or Lennox Lewis

Lenox won, edged him.

 

Always score it for Lewis by 2 rounds every time I watched it. Mercer did very well but he simply didn't throw enough punches to win enough rounds. He never had Lewis hurt and Lewis usually responded to a Mercer assualt by returning fire, often in combination.

He also fought evander tight on the cards around the same time too I believe

 

Mercer emptied his tank after 3 rds, and just toughed it out to the finish while getting hurt in each rd afterwards.. Never did enough to win.
6-4 Lewis giving Mercer every possible close rd.
7-3 a reasonable score.

 

Mercer won rounds more clearly, but I thought Lewis did enough to bag six and earn a legit decision.

I wanted mercer to win. Always been a huge fan of the Merciless one. Not always a lewis fan. Something about big giants fighting in a safety first manner never appealed to me. Don't ge me wrong, I appreciated Lewis' skillset. But still, not my cup o English Jamaican Canadian tea. But he eaked out a close win.

The Mercer he fought, and who brutalized Morrison, would be an undisputed Champ today though. Shows how much the division has regressed.

 

I remember Lewis landing a very hard low blow and Mercer didn't even flinch. It was like the guy's whole body was made of iron.
