Kessler is a joker...That should have been him knocking Miranda out the other night. But he didnt have the heart to fight him...FuK let him go fight Mundine or some other second tier fighter, it seems that is what he is best suited for.
I wouldn't exactly rate Miranda on a whole different level above Mundine. I'd like to see him fight Taylor, Bute or Froch, be nice to see the latter two mentioned stepup for a big fight.
Miranda isnt a world beatter by any means and Mundine is more talented. But Mundine isnt a fighter, He is a guy that is in the fight game. Mundine is a better boxer then Miranda but Mundine isnt a sellout fighter and I think that is what Kessler didnt want to face. Kessler would have tore Miranda's a$$ up, but you have to have the heart to face a guy like him. And Kessler dont seem to have it in him.
Kessler just wanted to fight Miranda on HBO instead of Showtime and for a WBA title rather than for nothing, but instead of keeping his cool and letting things play out, Miranda ran around saying Kessler was scared and then got ktfo by Abraham. Kessler put his 2 titles on the line against Calzaghe in Wales in front of 50,000 Calzaghe fans. That says more about hs heart than fighting Miranda can ever say about anything.
Miranda getting knockeout out by Abraham doesnt make anyont forget or somehow give Kessler the right to say I told you so...Hell for all we know Abraham would knock Kessler out in the first round.
That doesn't change the fact that 1) Kessler just wanted to fight Miranda on HBO instead of Showtime and for a WBA title rather than for nothing, but instead of keeping his cool and letting things play out, Miranda ran around saying Kessler was scared and then got ktfo by Abraham. and 2) Kessler put his 2 titles on the line against Calzaghe in Wales in front of 50,000 Calzaghe fans. That says more about hs heart than fighting Miranda can ever say about anything.
Pavlik is much more of a knockout artist than Kessler, but that is tangential. Even if Kelly had "only" thoroughly dominated Lockett for twelve rounds, Pavlik could hardly have been considered "exposed" by his effort (regardless of what some forumites may have thought). On your original logic, Winky would have been considered to have "gone deep" for his consumate domination of Trinidad. You'll get no arguments from me about this forum being partisan- and that works both ways between the Euros and Americans (I am neither so believe that I am reasonably impartial). But to call Kessler's effort against Sartison (where he won all but 20 seconds of the fight before sending Sartison to hospital) "going deep" only accentuates the tit-for-tat on this forum. Let's hope that they meet soon in any case.
