Easiest fight with some rep for Pavlik would be Direll. Direll would be scared to death and run the entire fight, and Kelly would close him out late. Then, look for a serious fight.
According to Steve Kim, Kelly Pavlik accepted the spot on the Pac/Mosely card. No word on an opponent.
Agree, that is someone Pavlik definitely shouldn't fight first fight at 168. I don't like Dirrell....but man...that's not a good fight for Pavlik.
Nope -- KP hasn't fought above 160 in 2 and 1/2 years. By the time May rolls around it will be over a year since he has fought at all. I wouldn't object to Pavlik/Dirrell if KP was on a hot streak, but now is absolutely not the time.
the whole Pavlik weight discussion is interesting. some say the life style and booze were the reason but check the vid out right at 9:00 this was right after the Miranda fight when most of us assume kelly was still living it cleaner than post taylor, had more determination, and motivation. he admits 160 is a problem even then. Jack Daniels- He has a pretty good record against opponents with Pavliks styles. It has left them unconcious near toilets succeptible to marker penises on their face. Jack Daniels TKOs Pavlik via poisoning leading to stomach pump.
Pavlik originally planned to move up after the McKart fight, but when his big breaks finally came, they came at 160, so he stuck around the division.
Pavlik is gonna fight a couple of bums before stepping up and catching another beating, rinse and repeat until the bums start winning or white america gives up on him.
