Canelo really dissappointed me, i know hes barely 22 but hes holding a belt already, i think Chavez has faced better opposition in their last 4 or 5 fights,
Here's my preference of Alvarez's next opponents. 1 Mayweather- Good fight and would be a big event. Outside of a Mayweather-Pac fight which isn't happening this is one of the biggest fights in boxing. I don't think it happens in May and if it did Mayweather wins but the longer this fight gets delayed the better Alvarez's chances. I wouldn't be shocked if this happens in September. 2 Trout- I think this turns out to be a good fight and Trout is clearly one of the top guys at this weight. I don't think it does happens next and Trout needs to get busy raising his stock so he gets a shot at guys like Mayweather and Alvarez. 3 Angulo- Maybe the best action fight in boxing. Angulo's was off a while and had that beatdown to Kirkland. But he's fighting his second fight in two months in 2 weeks so he's getting close to being ready. Ideally, he'd fight another fight in 6-8 weeks after this one and than he and Alvarez would be a great fight. 4 Kirkland- I have no idea whats going on with him as far as his injury or managerial situation but this could be a fight of the year fight. Preferably, he'd pick up a quick tune-up fight or two since he's already been off a bit but a fit and ready Kirkland vs Alvarez is right there with Angulo as far as best action fights. 5 Cotto- Yeah the demand for this fight took a big hit and Alvarez would be a comfortable favorite but its still a good fight and Cotto would still be the best guy Alvarez has faced. Cotto is fading but not shot and this fight wouldn't be a total walkover for Alvarez-Cotto would put up a fight here. A Cotto fight would also build Alvarez's profile which helps build a Mayweather fight.
Cotto only fights champions-21 straight and counting. He deserves a shot at Canelo, despite losing to Trout who nobody really cares about.
Trout. And also I would not want to see Miguel put in there just to be battered and stopped. I don't think that is good for boxing. He has taken a lot of punishment in his career and the worst thing now is two tough fights in a row and then being knocked out in the second. I think if Miguel fights on and wants to still have a good career from this point on. He should go back to 147 and handpick guys better for his style who are smaller welterweights -then he can get a few good wins and end up with a nice legacy.
