I want Haye to win, as I think Wladimir is an extremely boring fighter to watch and would rather see Haye vs Vitali than Wlad vs anyone else. BUT, I think Wlad will win. He may be boring, but he is damn effective.
I want Haye to win, fight Vitali and lose, thus Vitali takes his rightful place as the No1 heavyweight and rank ahead of his brother in the ATG standings. Vitali > Wlad.
I want and think Haye will win. His defence is underrated and his speed will see him through. They are both the best fighter the other has ever faced, though. Both are outrageously underrated and unthinkingly criticised.
I've been a Wlad fan before his RING cover back in 97 or 98. His consistent improvement from his early days as a pro kept me a big fan during his early title run. His loss to Purrity was obviously a fluke to me, and his KO at the hands of Sanders was fully expected by his truest fans his saw his lack of interior defense and his awful opening to the straight L. While I was pulling for him in that fight, I couldn't see him beating such a fast and powerful southpaw with solid chin. Horrible fight for him to take, and take so lightly. His loss to Brewster floored me though. To this day I can't find a rational understanding of this loss. That said, I hoping he beats Haye, and decisively. A mid round KO would be best for the division, and for Wlad's legacy. People call him boring, but what is boring about watching a fighter use all the tools he has to earn KO or a UD? His style is not jab and grab ala Ruiz, but jab, jab, jab, straight. If his opponent comes forward, he grabs. Why should such a long fighter let smaller guys just run in to try to rock him? He fights to win. By any means necessary, and has done brilliantly during his career. So brilliantly, that he, and his brother present such difficult opposition, that a healthy generation of HW contenders just look like cans compared to them. The reason they are so disliked is because the american fight public has always typically looked for some ghetto fighter to rise up and feircely defend HW boxing. But the former soviet bloc are hungrier and more dedicated and so we will never see an a/a HW champ again. Haye, for all his luck and his talk, should be stopped early in this fight, but chances are he will come out guns ablazing and deter Wlad for about 4 rds. By then Wlad will have found his niche, and start sitting on his punches. Look for Wlad to stop him in the middle of the fight. Rds 5-7 Haye should be bloodier than Byrd by the time it's over. Then again, I don't see Haye with Byrds grill and he likely will fold just before that punch could land to bust him up real bad.
I want Haye or the next hope, Povetkin or whoever to dethrone Wladimir, not cause I deslike the Klitschko in particular, simply I know it's not gonna happen, Wladimir wins this in a most boring 12 round Decision.
I don't really know, I think I want Haye to win but I think Wlad will. Even if Haye wins, it doesn't save the division, because if Haye beats Wlad and then he beats Vitali, and then retires? Like... the brothers will just fight guys who they can beat and win them back anyway, won't they? So I don't really fully understand how Haye is saving anything here, but lets see what happens. Disregarding the future of the heavyweight scene and other scenarios, the fight itself should be quite entertaining!
i think many of us feel that way. my heart is with haye, because i dislike the klitschkos. but if i had money to bet, i´d bet on wladimir.
So you don't want to see the heavyweight division unified ever? You think it's good for boxing to have 2 guys as champions who will never fight?
