Lets say you can pick his next 3-5 fights/wins for him to solidify his ATG ranking next to a FMJ, Pacquiao, Fab 4

If he beat Jermell, then I dunno, Castano then Kostya's son, then went up to MW and beat whoever is number 1 there, I would definitely put him there.

This being said I think he could beat Castano and Tim, I don't think he beats Jermell.

Bud doesn't even have the available competition to barely make it into the top 100.

I honestly think he beats Jermell - I know you are a good poster so would be interested to know why you'd pick Jermell over Crawford? 1) I think Jermell will be compromised by going up to 168 and back 2) I'm not sure Jermell is that serious about legacy anymore, he's just after money 3) I don't think Jermell has the skills to win and Crawford has the power to keep him off.

Castano is actually pretty skilled but he isn't as skilled as Crawford and doesn't have big power or anything, so definitely agree on that one. Tsuyu has a small chance as he does have size and power and is hungry, but like Jermell I can't see my way to picking him.

To go back to the OP question, his resume is pretty thin for top 30 atg, he needs something like a Canelo win at 160+ I think. When I list top 30 ATGs I always realize how many crazy things some of them did, in some cases more crazy than Crawford beating Canelo.

He's by far a better boxer than Jermell, not even a question of that. He's not as explosive though, he simply isn't. Even were they the same exact size, I'd say Jermell was the more explosive guy, Crawford doesn't fight that way. He's a beautiful boxer that just happens to have some dog in him and will sometimes go get you. Jermell is vicious and tries to take your head off with everything, until he does.

Little twin (and big twin), one thing both have in abundance is explosiveness. Everything is relative as you go up in size. Little twin is a MW, hell he's close to being a SMW (his frame says so). Crawford would have to fight the perfect fight to not get clipped, and his size deficit, I can't see him weathering that eventual storm. Not with my suspicion that he's reached his size limits. Castano is his size and less skilled and I see Crawford outdueling him, and the threat of being detonated isn't there. Tim, I've seen enough of his fights to not have really ever been impressed with him (he's not his father who I think extremely highly of). Then again, I thought him and Spence would be a 12 round war so you never know

Top 30 is a tall task, but if I humored a road to it, being the legit 5 division champion (not just titlist) would do it for me.

Spence again, Tszyu, Charlo and Canelo at 164 catchweight. 30 ATG. Then again I don’t have a particular list of 30 ATG’s in mind. Might be higher due to being american and a contemporary fighter, especially if he retires undefeated.

There isn't TBH he seriously lacks real stand out wins on his resume, the best 4 or 5 opponents i can think of are Ennis, Charlo, Tszyu, Canelo, Benavidez. And your talking about him having to fight at Super Middleweight which seems unrealistic at this stage in his career.

If he could beat Charlo at 154 then win the middleweight title that would be an amazing feat .A Lightweight that wins the middleweight title puts you in an exclusive club with Roberto Duran. I think he can take 154 since Charlo is semi retired and while 160 is currently a wasteland he could be overwhelmed by the size of a lesser fighter, not to mention he'd probably be around 37 or older. He can only fight whats available though he could sneak into the top 25 or 30 and as the years go by his stock could rise.

The boat has sailed a long time ago in the case of Crawford. Too late to upgrade his weak resume.
