let me just add though that 3g is no cowardzaghe. he actually owns titles and defends titles from the major bodies. whereas a cowardzaghe springs on a titlist when they are injured/old/retiring, wins it and then running away dumps it refusing a rematch.

Do you consider Hopkins defenses to be legit since he was only defending one belt? The belt situation is screwed up but it is where we're at today.

it was the belt for his organisation, not a secondary belt whilst someone else held the real one, so I don't know why you are asking me this, your question has nothing to do with my post.

Both are title from the major sanctioning bodies. The point is that people are considered titlist if they have a title from a major sanctioning body, doesn't matter if someone else holds a similar belt. I was using the Hopkins example as an example how the specifics of these title defense records are loosening up .

no regular is the 2nd tier title to the main one.

Why are you trying to argue about this when you are clearly wrong to apply this argument here?

No, he isn't. Interim title defenses are NOT world title defenses. Bumlovkin's WBA title was an INTERIM title up until recently. He's NOWHERE NEAR Hopkins' record. Please remove your head from your ASS...

But the point is he would still be announced as the wba champ. Even if it's 2nd tier to the main one, it's still a title from a major sanctioning body.

Hopkins, prior to the Trinidad fight, was essentially defending a paper title...
