..of these 4 middle s from the 1960's? Joey Giardello Dick Tiger Emile Griffith Nino Benvenuti ???? Graham at his peak ,15 rounds.
giardello was the weakest Puncher...so id say him. and perhaps nino who was the most orthodox/textbook and the most straight up. the conventional ones Always struggle with the awkward speedsters.
Tiger and Griffith were a lot better than Graham, Emille did far better against Monzon than Graham would have and Tiger was good enough to win the light heavy title just think what Foster would have done to the fragile Graham, Tiger was doing well till he ran into THAT hook.
I don’t know if he would have beat any of them. I liked the Bomber but he has tended to be overrated on here in recent times. Every time he stepped up he got beat, his best win was against a faded Kalule in Kalule’s last fight.
Bomber annoyed me at times. He had the ability ,at least imo to do so much better and more. There was no disgrace in any of his L s if you ask me ,even in his last title shot he was doing great till getting stopped. But at his very Best could he defeat the 4 mentioned ?I give him a shot at Nino and Joey whilst the other 2 he loses badly to .
Of course, in boxing, anything can happen. Tiger - whom I too would pick automatically to win - did have issues with boxers. He thrived on those coming at him like Hurricane Carter, Florentino Fernandez, Gene Fullmer, Rocky Rivero, Jose Torres and Henry Hank. And had difficulty with the boxers like Emile Griffith, Holly Mims, Joey Archer, Spider Webb and Joey Giardello. I think Tiger would find Graham's style unappetizing with his movement, his defense and his pop-pop-pop counters. I wouldn't be betting the house on this one.
Giardello whips his ass, as do Tiger, Griffith and Benvenuti....and man, do I ever get tired of ignorant posters displaying their ignorance of these great middleweights of the 60's and
