From what I've seen Canelo...They rave on about how he "earned" his way and fought better opposition

After watching the face off and 24/7, i kind of feel bad for Jr with the enormous pressure to prove that he is no a fraud. People prolly prefers canelo more due to so many accusing jr as living off his father's name. Watching his unconfident slouching postures says that he is still a native kid who is still trying to find his confidence.

I'm not giving chavez jr credit because he was forced by the wbc many times to fight martinez after ducking martinez more then twice and it took over 40 fights to finally fight him. Canelo wants to fight cotto and mayweather in his 30's pro fights.

Can't say for Mexican's, but if I were from there I'd give more props to Chavez Jr. First of all, he's actually called out Alvarez and wanted to fight him but Alvarez chickend out. Then after he calls him out, he clowns him with his dope ass halloween costume mocking his red hair. 3rd, he fights better competition instead of beyond passed prime (cintron, baldomir, mosley, and even now a jr welterweight?!?) like Alvarez. Finally, the boy was born with money up the ass and didn't have to fight, but instead he does it not for the money, but for his family name. Boss **** right there. However, he'd still lose to Floyd of course.

Jr definitely one uped Canelo with finally agree to fight Martinez. Canelo is fighting the old and the undersized. Shane is good name but he was there for one last check.

Chavez Jr. No doubt. He's the son of the Mexican Legendary Fighter Julio C. Chavez Sr.

+1 Marquez should be everyone's favorite, way better than these hypejobs. Mikey Garcia barely gets attention, don't know why

hell, even Salido is more proven than those 2

was this before he chose to fight a 140 pounder or even now he's still praised? what's next is he going to drag marquez up to 154 and he will have a passing of the torch type of fight?

Agree with Marquez and Salido statements.

But if there is anyone else who should also be getting more props, its Abner Mares.

Undefeated, highly skilled, very exciting, and by far has faced better competition than Canelo and Jr.

Marquez, Mares and Salido are the 3 G's of Mexico today. :deal:deal:deal

As for Mikey, you know most Mexicans don't care much about the Chicanos.

But im a Fan of Boxing first, and im a fan of Mikey. :good

Why give the people what they want? That would set a dangerous precedent !

I'd say the casual fan likes Canelo more, the pure boxing fans like Chavez more, possibly due to achievements recently (Chavez fighting the better competition), and also due to Chavez's lineage.
