i dont think there is anything he can do while PBF is in the picture. If PBF either looses or retires and Paq is still undefeated then he will get the #1 spot, but unless that happens he wont make it
Even if PBF loses a fight it would be hard to rate Manny Pacquiao above him. I think when you are considering the best p4p fighter, technical skill and defense are a big part of the critieria and Manny can't compare to Mayweather in either.
He's just not the best P4P fighter. Deal with it. Marquez is the smaller man and if anyone was the better man in the ring that night it was him, not Pac.
if he had beaten marquez decesively, a lot of people are prepared to move him up over floyd especially now that floyd is on a vacation and doing some stuffs unrelated to boxing. but he didn't so he stays at #2.
He would have to have defeated JMM convincingly - he didn't, so remains at No. 2 on my list. I think if he went further through the weight divisions to light, and perhaps light welter, and succeeded there, there could be few doubts - especially as Floyd will most probably have gone by then. I just don't see how Manny can succeed at 140 against Hatton, too big, too strong, though I wouldn't bet against him beating most of the others.
How about Juan Guzman? Pac has made a name out of himself against shop worn fighters. Morales dropped from 190lbs to meet Pac and Barrara is well retire now because he got close to 60 fights since he was 16. Marquez is the only one that is still doing good and he is 34. Is not comparsion to Floyd's opposition while moving up in weight. At 130 Floyd beat a lot of guys peak in prime and most of his opponents went on to win titles after getting defeated by him. Floyd beat Corrales when he was undefeated, Castillo 2x, manfreddy, and Jesus Chavez at 130. Beat Judah and Baldomir while moving up. Hatton when he was undefeated and Oscar who was much bigger. Not to mention, Floyd beat his opponents easily with the exception of him being injuried before the fight.
If he carries his power up to lightweight and beat campbell, casamayor, and juan diaz decisively then he'll move up in my book
