Ye. Its easy to get caught up in the hype of how good Khan is but trust me, he's average, no more. Easy night for Paulie.

Why's Paulie a douchebag? Because he gives an honest opinion? He's not like Mayweather, he doesn't got around talking about money, cars, bitches and hoes (I'm not sure Floyd actually talks about hoes and bitches, just sounds good, but I bet he does). Paulie's the truth and people don't like hearing the truth. :deal

And as I type this I realised I've quoted the wrong ****ing post, just saying.

Exactly. The fact is Brits will only accept someone as a superstar if they are a modest, beer drinking guy with no confidence. Every single British celebrity milks the working class hero crap. Do y'all think Khan is as sweet and innocent of camer as he is on it?

Paulie has 5 KOs in close on 30 fights, if he didn't have a smart mouth and an eye for getting himself noticed with dodgy hairstyles and controversial quotes then he'd be fighting for peanuts and not being given the breaks that he has been given throughout his career.

Can't blame the guy for wanting to make the best out of his career!!!

I'd like Khan to win I'll always support the British fighter fighting at international level . That said I do like paulie he either talks a lot of sense or entertaining nonsense either way big characters like him are good for the sport. I've always had the feeling with Khan that he's actually quite a quiet guy and thats why he doesnt come across too well in interviews and that reservedness seems like arrogance

Khan. British and a world champion to boot, exciting fighter to watch with greater potential than Paulie, therefore I want to see him win and hopefully fulfill it. Not a Paulie fan either to be honest, I don't hate him though, just not a fan.

I know, that's why Naz wasn't the most popular or talked about British fighter in the late 90's - early 00's...Oh wait....

    And Nigel Benn, Lennox Lewis.

Neither were "drinkers" or lacked confidence. Both did OK from a popularity point of view.

The line that Brits "only" like a certain type of fighter, whether it be the "one of the lads", "the good loser" etc is pretty cliched. And not true IMHO.

Well let's be fair, I know he's no RJJ or Mayweather but he has some fine boxing skills too. He only started at 16 as well, only took him a couple years to win national championships at amateur level. He's got talent as well. With his limitations in the power department he's gone pretty ****ing far.

Benn was retired by then and Lennox was one I was not sure about. He was in the most popular division to the casual fan, but Naz had a more exciting boxing style and was a one of, if not the, biggest mouth in boxing at the time.

Obviously I was only young so I can't really remember who was more popular, so I had a punt at who I thought was more popular based on the above. Obviously you will have a clearer view as to who was more popular :yep:good

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't slagging the guy. He's a good fighter. I was just saying that KOs sell and that it serves Paulie well to be able to stand out of the pack with his mouth/ hair etc in the absence of him being able to KO opponents.

I wasn't knocking him as a fighter. He's making the most of the tools he's got.

Sorry mate, I edited it my post too late. I could tell it wasn't very clear what I was trying to say. I was agreeing with you and just pointing out a couple more fighters who may fit the bill as well as Naz.

As far as popularity is concerned its Naz, Benn, Lewis in that order IMHO (maybe twist 1 and 2 though!).:good
