Thing is, I don't necessarily support a fighter just because they come from mycountry. I support the fighter I prefer watching, or someone I like, or someone I appreciate stylistically.
I can't see why this is a problem. Fighters should earn their position, if Khan can't beat Paulie he deserves to fade into obscurity (or at least have to work hard to get another useless ABC title) and if Paulie stops him we really shouldn't WANT to see the kid in with a puncher, I'd fear for his health (and already do, he has possibly the worst chin I've ever seen)
I have my favourites but nationality is a good place for me to start, though far from the be all and end all of it. A Khan win would be good for British boxing and I have no special "liking" for Paulie (not that I dislike the fella) so I'm hoping for a Khan win.
Sometimes it can help me root for a fighter more. But look at Calzaghe; if he were from outside Britain he'd be regarded as another Erdei:rofl
Its not really a problem per se, its just that it would be ashame if he was blasted out considering the money and marketing etc that has been invested into him. All money that imo would have been better spent elsewhere on some of our other prospects without a padded record or a glass jaw
Khan. Not a massive fan but I don't mind him and wish him well. Same for Paulie really, but since Khan is British I'd be pleased to see him win.
definitely khan. i don't mind malignaggi - he seems to have made quite a few fans prior to this fight though :think
Oh don't gimme that. I guess you're thinking everyone supporting Paulie hates Khan or is racist. You one of them that thinks that?
