I don't get why people would think Wlad was ducking Haye. He agreed to a fight before lest we forget and he wasn't the one to pull out. Haye has previous having backed out of that bout and then turned down Vitali to fight Valuev, and then backed out of another opportunity to fight either Klitschko - who were the one's making all the noise while Haye went quiet - to fight Audley ****ing Harrison.

Then why didn't Haye take April 30th date instead?

Given their history, how Haye made Wlad wait around for months in 09 then pulling out when their fight was first scheduled, it has to be Haye. Wlad has earned the right not to risk being ****ed around like that again.

I mean, be serious. The only thing worrysome about a tuneup before a big fight is if it's against an opponent who could present a tough fight or make someone look bad (DLH fighting Sturm before Hopkins, Judah fighting Baldomir before Mayweather, Terry Norris fighting Keith Mullings with a DLH fight on the horizon)..

When tuneups are fought against Chisora level opponents people tend to be more worried for the health of the tune-up victim, not the elite fighter. It would take a Buster Douglas type miracle for Chisora to ruin Wlads plans of fighting 2 months after their fight.

Haye is plain ducking, and planning to run into retirement.

Then Haye would be NO WORSE OFF than he is today by declining.
In fact, he'd be in the exact same situation. He'd have to fight his mandatory, Chagaev.

So the "what happens if he gets cut or injured" excuse does
    NOT hold water.

Haye backed out of a fight with Vitali to fight Valuev and put himself obviously in a better position with more leverage in negotiations for a future Klitschko fight. What would have happened if he lost or suffered a career-ending injury?

It's the same principle. There's no more risk of Wlad getting a cut or injury against Chisora than there would have been Haye losing a fight officially or unofficially to Valuev and ruining a potential Klitschko fight.

Nevertheless, they push the fight back or Haye gets a replacement like Wlad had to do at short-notice when Haye backed out by drafting Chagaev in. Nothing stopping Haye agreeing to that July date.

When Haye pulled out with "an injury", Wlad found the replacement. I think Wlad will have no problem finding a replacement this time around as well.

Haye himself has come out and said April wasn't available because of those reasons and Khan has it tied up. No chance that Sky would push the Khan date back/forward to make concessions for Haye.

Not really. Obviously there are different intensities a fighter trains at, but if he wanted to be at his absolute peak, he would need a long rest going into the Chisora fight. His camp have obviously figured out that he's at his absolute best after 8-10 weeks of training which he would need to double if he was to fight Haye and Chisora. So how could he do it? The period of 8 weeks isn't enough to slow down, get enough rest, start slow and build up to an intense last week. He would be doing what he usually does except he'd have had a long training camp before that!

Complete impossible. He could be in average shape for Chisora, have a week or so off and hope to be right for Haye, but it's unlikely. That's the only possibility. There isn't any way that he could be, excuse the pun, fighting fit for both bouts. If he did try to be in his best shape possible, he'd gas within 4 rounds against Haye, I guarantee.

I agree, the dates do seem very close but not impossible.

If Wlad wants to fight on those two dates, that should be the end of the matter.

Lennox Lewis signed to fight Razor Ruddock for a certain date and both men had tuneups.

Haye and Wlad would take care of Chagaev and Chisora easily enough..... but because Haye is a part time boxer these days the concept of more than one contest per year (joke opponents like Harrison aside) is alien to him.

Jack - Vitali had about this same time frame between Chris Arreola and the Johnson fight.
Vitali is older, has had more injuries, etc....

Surely if Vitali can fight this closely together, Wlad can too.

    Haye should just agree.
