So a fight for The Ring Magazine belt is not a legacy fight but a fight with a Glass Jawed Cruiserweight is? :huh

What kind of logic is that?

haye had built up one of the most exciting talked about heavyweight fights in years, if wlad wins it, in dramatic fashion.....wlad will add to his legacy........will fans remember when wlad beat ruslan? it will be a foot note on boxrec in a few weeks.

    Neither ducked

Listen Haye wouldn't have gone to all the trouble he did getting himself this fight if he didn't want it! Its a shame what happened to him but he realises how dangerous this fight is for him and isn't stupid enough to go through with it injured. If he gets sparked he looks like a dick after everything he's said (worse than he does now to all the Klit Lovers) and nobody will care if he's injured. How many times have we all heard after a fighter was beat that he was injured ??

Wlad made a stupid decision but can you blame him ? If he really believes (which I think he does) that he can beat Haye then he should have postponed it, but after everything that Haye has said and done and the fact that he's not even a mandatory Wlad's probably thought 'why should I wait?'

Going by that logic Ray Austin talked a lot of **** in the media before his fight with Klitschko. He got KOed and it did nothing for Klitschko's legacy.

Talking **** is not enough you actually have to make the fight and win the fight.

A fight for The Ring Magazine belt and possibly the WBA belt is much more important than a win over David Haye.

The winner will be WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO/Ring Magazine Heavyweight Champion.

All that is left is the WBC...........

That's still flawed logic. Wlad isn't like Haye. He doesn't like waiting a year in between fights. He wants to be active, and people are bashing him for it. Wlad never even wanted to wait until June. Clearly Haye isn't ready... why would Wlad sit on his ass and the titles? The man is going for the highest ranked opponent outside of his brother that he could possibly fight! Wlad would have sold 60,000 seats in a stadium in germany to fight Chagaev as well. David Haye isn't a big draw, hell... most of the casual boxing fans that I talk to don't even have a clue who the hell he is.

BTW... Wlad is fighting for the fans. The 60,000 fans who have already bought tickets, made travel arrangements, and scheduled time off of their careers to come see Wlad fight on June 20th. How happy do you think those fans would be with that fight card scrapped?

See that all great and dandy for boxrec, but what does he want to be remember as?.......A boring fighter that turned fans to MMA, or a guy that gave us exciting fights?

No one is ducking no one. But if it's any of the two, it's clearly Haye since HE cancelled the fight, not Wlad.

it has already been done before. Legacy wise Chagaev does much more for Wlad than Haye. That is not debatable as Haye brings NOTHING to the table. Chagaev does.

Legacy is what we are talking about not what fight people want to see. Chagaev is a very good replacement fight.

Exactly. Everyone has been bitching for years about a lack of a lineal champ and now that we will have one in 2 weeks everyone bitches about that. Wlad can't win with you guys.

Wlad must have something to fear if he couldn't wait a month. Jones-Calzaghe was delayed due to injury, should Jones have said "**** Calzaghe" and fought someone else, instead of waiting for the fight that everyone wanted to see?

Holyfield - Tyson 2 was postponed due to injury. Holyfield waited for Tyson, because it was the rematch everyone wanted to see.

De La Hoya vs Vargas - postponed due to wrist injury.

Barrera vs Morales 2 - postponed due to rib injury.

Hagler - Hearns, Ali-Foreman, and countless other big fights POSTPONED due to injuries...need I ****ing go on??

So what does that say about Wladimir, unwilling to wait a mere month?
