Cooney never won a title but as an event it helped to create Holmes legacy.

By your logic Mosley beating Berto would be better than beating Foyd because Berto has a belt!?!?

Holding a belt in this current day is nothing to write home about!!!

It shows that Wlad is willing and wanting to clean out the division. Can you not understand that? Berto?:rofl:patsch

Cooney is about Holmes 6th best win on his resume the guy was crap in a crap era.

    This.

Nobody ducked anybody, and I dont blame Wlad for fighting Chagaev.

However I would rather he had held on and allowed this fight the time it needs to materialise despite the costs.

Let me first say I am not gonna say Haye ducked Wlad at this point.

But a lot of you Waldo haters have become so pathetic, you put Kobe haters to shame. You base all your reasoning on hate and/or love for David Haye and completely ignore the facts.

Lets look at them. Haye gets injured, then Booth goes on to the Bunce show and straight up lies that Haye needs only THREE additional weeks to heal which is supposed to be confrimed by a doctor. Then, a day later it changes to FIVE.Where does it end haters? Haye is injured and in no condition to fight. Let him heal up and move on with his career. You want Wlad to fight a gimp?

Meanwhile, Wald has a chance to claim the Ring belt and perhaps the WBA strap and he's supposed to wait for Haye without a definite timeline. Additionally, Povetkin's shot is due in September so it's quite likely if Wlad waited on Haye to heal, Wlad gets his IBF title stripped.

this is fair but i don't think it was worth the wait given his uncertain health status but as a haye fan i can understand why u would :yep

Nobody ducked. Haye got injured and pulled out. He then tried to save face in the media claiming he could make the 11th when he was out until at least the 25th. It wasn't convenient for Wlad because this fight may not have happened until August/September in the end. Wlad shouldn't of had to weight around, he has other fights to be getting on with.

Considering that HAEY's camp has listed three separate injuries, from his hand, to his foot, and now his back, and have alternately said he will be ready in 3 weeks, will be ready on the 20th, and now be ready in 7 weeks, why should WALD's camp sit around waiting for him?

If HAEY's camp had gotten their story straight the first time and been forthcoming about the injury and how long it would take to heal, the fight probably would've happened. The way they handled it made it look like they were completely full of **** and trying to play games.

That's what I was thinking. Is there really a need to blame anyone? Injuries happen, man. People just gotta deal with it- it sucks but what else could happen? Booth was insinuating earlier that the 3 weeks was optimistic. Although it's an interesting fight, I don't think Chagaev will bother Wlad- and with HBO only backing a Haye fight- it's only a foregone conclusion that the fight will happen later in the year. It's annoying but it should happen. This is boxing, though!

Damn people are idiots if they think Wlad is ducking to fight Haye. If Wlad is ducking to fight Haye then Wlad would fake an injury in training camp to have the fight cancel. Also the Reason Wlad won't wait for Haye on july 25 cause people forget Wlad has to fight Povetkin around september.
