cause it leaves you horribly open unfortunately. see buster douglas getting plastered by holyfield for a perfect example

marquez gets away with it because of his superb timing. without that, he's getting knocked out.

 

Barrera used to do it too.

 

It leaves you wide open not a good punch to throw against most.

Great point. He rarely used it against Pacquiao because it would've been too risky. He threw a bucnh against Diaz, though.

berto is a physical freak but as he steps up in competition he won't get away with that, no matter how fast he is

Naseem Hamed used to throw some crazy twisting uppercuts from the outside, those were lethal when he connected, he rarely got countered but his opponents were usually seeing stars when he launched one.

 

Pac used to throw a lot of power uppercuts from the outside. He once fought a Thai fighter whom he lifted off the canvass by an uppercut thrown from a distance.
